The latest offering, Latin Travels 2 is once again, the sound of the past harmonizing with the future- the fusion of 21st century global dance culture with ancient traditions and deep roots. The music is a representation of the entire Afro-Latin Diaspora (the sounds of Africa, Cuba, the Caribbean and Brazil) in a modern context.
In keeping with its predecessors tradition, Latin Travels 2 is chock full of exclusive tracks and remixes that have been recorded specially for this project. Highlights include, a brand new reggeaton remix of Los Mococsos track "Bandolera", Tim "Love" Lees funky re-work of a classic 70s track from Brazilian soul band, Banda Uniao Black, Bombay Dub Orchestras irresistible, "Montuno Skank" and hot, hip hop up and comers, the Rondo Brothers remix of a Beny More Latin classic.

The coolest of today's latin dance music,
By
This review is from: Latin Travels 2: Six Degrees Collection (Audio CD)
This compilation is rocking from the very start ("Montuno Skank" is absolutely lovely latin dub groover from forthcoming world-fusion superstars Bombay Dub Orchestra, ready to release their fully orchestrated electronic dub works early 2006) till only silence remains. This is extremely satifying mix of about everything that's cool, sexy and danceable at the moment, Hip Hop, Electronica, Drum 'n Bass, Reggaeton, Funk, Afro, Latin, House, Disco, and a stellar cast of talented and experienced musicians, singers and producers work their best to give you and your cool friends maximum enjoyment. Some exclusive funky remixes on this one so get it soon (though it's gonna be hot forever anyway).Just put this on and let the fiesta begin!

Geesh, this collection will rattle the windows with Big Latin Band dance tracks. This is a wonderful album to have and I play it quite frequently when energy is called for. It is creative and stylish and well worth the cost for those who want the newest technology on a venerable tradition. Olay!

Latin roots get a makeover,
By
This review is from: Latin Travels 2: Six Degrees Collection (Audio CD)
If you want to hear a variety of of artists within the Latin dance genre than this disc is for you. The songs are all relatively different; the one thing being the same is the Latin groove. Lots of Afro-Caribbean influences make this danceable, that coupled with the electronic makeovers and you have music for the latest generation to shake your booty. There are lots of cool tracks that are upbeat including the current dance theme "Bandolero Era" which is a Regaeton remix and very popular with the current crop of hipsters dancing the nights away in exotic locales like Cancun, Cabo, etc. Some of the stuff has been slowed down and infused with electronic elements like the mamboesque "Manzanillo" which sounds modern yet maintians it's roots integrity. "California" has a old school meets the 21st century vibe that is part merengue, part electronica and all good. Dig offers "Post Modern Cumbia" that is another song in a similar vein as just described but even better, it has tastefully recreated a popular dance form, slowed it down and added jazzy arrangements for a refreshing new take on an old dance theme. Several others tracks have jazzy additions to the mix for some mellow sounds. This is a good compilation that is good for the rotaion to change the pace and get into a Latin dance groove. Recommended for party people everywhere.
