I have seen the Herwig CDs,Miles,Coltrane Latin sides etc.I have Always hesitated to pick them up.I must like Wayne Shorter more than Miles and Coltrane because when I saw this I snatched it right up.Im glad I did.These guys play Waynes music respectfully and beautifully,all solos good.Ping Pong,Tom Thumb,Adams Apple,Masqualero,Footprints really shine.The latin flavors are tasty!Shorter lovers,Believe me-Savor this one.

Very well arranged music. Only Conrad Herwig could have made Wayne Shorter tunes Latin. These are are not the stereotypical tunes that aren't normally Latin, but played Latin (as a lot of jazz musicians often do). These tunes are carefully arranged in Latin styles, and sound great.
