awesome Latin dance CD, June 25, 2000

This CD is a good "variety pack" of great songs for Latin dancing. "Americana Americana" is one of the most exuberant and catchy cha-chas I've heard (a close competitor being "Little Bit is Better Than Nada" by the Texas Tornadoes). The same remark applies for "No Le Digas Nada" with respect to mambo. "Go to Pieces" works well as a slow rumba, and the two mixes of "Black is Black" are fun, fast swings with, of course, a Latin flavor. In fact, all the tracks can be danced to, but the ones I mention have the added benefit of being very catchy (to use that word again) tunes, good for listening to even when dancing is not an option (i.e., in the car). The remaining tracks are mainly good for mambo/salsa/merengue, but "Love Potion #9" is made for cha-cha.
