The only way this album would get a perfect score would be if it included the lyrics to the wonderful selection of songs included. From start to finish, if this CD doesn't get your pulse going, instruct your relatives to call 911--you're dead! I have a large latin album collection and I come back to this one time and again for the variety it offers.

As a ballroom and latin dance instructor, I have used this Latin CD more than any that I own. The Cha Cha's and Salsa's are of perfect tempo. The music is simply wonderful to listen to whether dancing or not.

This is an album that is sure to lift your spirits. Full of great Latin dance beats, from artists from Cuba, Spain, South America and even Zaire. A great selection and variety, from Salsa and Rumba to Son. The booklet is also very informative, with a piece about each artist and the song. Highly recommended.

This is a fabulous compilation. Wonderful beats and melodies make you feel like you are in a steamy latin nightclub. "Music from the Coffee Lands" (another Putumayo release) is also wonderful!

A great compilation of music from the roots of Africa, Cuba and Latin America interpreting the Cuban son better known today as "Salsa", other musicians from Colombia, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela are here too with their traditional rhythms that have been incorporated in the Afro-Cuban sounds. My favorite is a duo "Besame Mama" with Poncho Sanchez (a Chicano from California) and my favorite the king conga player, (Cuban born) Mongo Santamaria. This CD is very good for all Latinos in general.

I first heard this CD when I started teaching 1st grade. My first graders loved this CD and asked me to play it for them..I fell in love with it too. Even my own children love the music. No matter what nationality you are, you will enjoy this CD.

I am Latina, raised in NYC and Forida listening to the best of puerto rican/neuorican/cuban music. This is an EXCELLENT collection of pieces by artists like mongo santa maria, oscar de leon, pancho sanchez and willie colon ... The REAL stuff. Terrific particulary for those not familiar with Latin music. A GREAT dance/party CD!! A+

I actually heard this CD at a Training seminar before I actually bought it. The music is terrific.

This is excellent...particularly the first 7 songs....I love it and order it for all my friends...their comments...."This is a GREAT CD!"

GREAT! Just great record! When winter settles in, in Chicago, this cd gets 'stuck' in my car:) And, happily so!

I have been asked by other drivers, "just what are you listening to and can I have it?".....I have had this happen whenever I listen to Professor Longhair:)

This one should be in every record collection!
