You'll like the CD. If you read the liner notes (as another reviewer evidently failed to do) you will see that the artist/roommate from the movie was actually signed by Clive Davis and was contractually not allowed to appear on the soundtrack (which was evidently an after-thought since the movie was the primary focus of C. Jay Cox.)

So, it's a little disappointing that some of the songs are not by the same artist as the movie, but it's still good overall, and if you're a crazy Latter Days fan, you won't mind.

Just the liner notes, pictures, and the "Abide With Me" track was worth the price.

To me, the movie LATTER DAYS was the "WILL AND GRACE" of the big screen. Sure the movie has gay characters, but it is a movie for everyone to enjoy. It is a timeless love story with outstanding performances by the entire cast. Movies like this will make viewers more aware that whether the leads are straight or gay, a great movie is a great movie. Just as WILL AND GRACE has made millions comfortable to have them in their homes each week, a movie like this should be welcomed in anyone's collection.

Of course, we all know that Rebekah Jordan does not appear in this soundtrack to sing the 3 songs she performed in the movie. Unfortunately, licensing fees were just prohibitive at the time the soundtrack was produced. Who knew at the time the movie, DVD and soundtrack would become best sellers?

The singer, Nita Whitaker, who covered those songs was well chosen as she has a similar voice, although I'm the first to admit Rebekah Jordan is truly wonderful and unreplaceable.

What is great about the entire soundtrack is the fact that you can play it in yor car and every note makes you recall unforgettable scenes in the movie. It's like watching the film in your mind. Just like the DVD, it is a collection you can listen to day after day and never tire of it.

All 17 tracks are wonderful easy listening music - there's nothing that you'll want to "skip" over.

I hope you will order a copy of the soundtrack as a companion for your DVD. And if you haven't ordered the DVD, you must buy one immediately, it is going to go down as a classic. I hope eventually it is the type of production that every home (not just gay households) will embrace!

Gay love stories like Torch Song Trilogy don't come along often in the trite genre of Gay Cinema, but this one was way more enjoyable than most. Beautiful actors and beatiful performances with a heaping side of comic zingers and situations made this a movie to remember. Make sure to get the soundtrack ... Man on a Mission will get you pumping at the gym and Hymn for Those Left Behind is the perfect, 12:00 midnight ... candles burning ... glass of wine ... gentle rain ... "That lousy S.O.B. left me" songs.

after mr. wiersma talked me into buying this cd, with his glowing review, i was definitely pleased after my first listening! as i write this, i am listening again, and again, and again. each song takes me back to that particular section of the movie, where i was moved by the discourse. good stuff! i can't really imagine anyone not liking this soundtrack, and, let's face it, a great deal of soundtracks are just fluff. i believe you will find yourself, like me, returning to it again, and again.

Now like everyone else I'm a little upset that Rehakah Jordan isn't doing the singing but still the songs are great. And the other reviewers who are putting up awful comments why waste your breath those of us who love it, will love it. Buy it great! Great Songs! Great Movie!

I really wasn't sure about this movie when I received it and read the description and once I started watching the opening scene I thought it was going to be one of those "typical" gay movies about how many guys one guy can meet. I was very surprised about how this movie touched me, it really hits home on many issues that any man would have coming out to an overbearing family. This movie was romantic and realistic, it just goes to show that you can't judge anything by it's cover. I would recommend this movie to anyone that is looking for something serious without all the sex!

For someone who usually forgets the soundtrack of a movie by the time I get to the parking lot, this is the second time in a year that I have been smitten by the quality and depth of meaning of the music woven into a film. That other movie I'll let you discover on your own.

I love this CD! I picked up the DVD at Barnes and Noble out of curiosity, and got just what I wanted: a love story that left me captivated. Wanting all things "Latter Days", I got the book, too. It was okay, but this is a story that was meant to be seen. I wanted the soundtrack, but was disappointed to find that it is out of print and going for nearly [...] used, minimum. I found a used copy at Half Price Books for [...] out of the blue -- those people sometimes waaay underprice a great thing. Got it, love it. My favorite songs are "Another Beautiful Day", "Man on a Mission", and "If I Could Be With You Now"....I think. No, they're ALL my favorite songs! ^_^ Best 6 bucks I ever spent.

Undoubtedly the best movie I've ever seen. You can't help but get emotionally involved with the main characters

A touching story about a gay Morman youth who discovers he is in love and at odds with his upbringing. It is a tribute to the support and love that others can provide when a birth family stops providing their support and love.
