From the Back Cover

Never again let a day go by without a laugh!

Laughter is powerful medicine--and it's just plain fun. The Laugh-a-Day Book of Bloopers, Quotes & Good Clean Jokes brings together hundreds of the funniest bits of wit and humor to brighten your day. In this book you'll find:

Bloopers like "For sale: Electric hospital bed, hardly used. No one died in it."

Quotes like "The only thing worse than hearing the alarm clock in the morning is not hearing it."

Good clean jokes like

This morning, my wife came into the kitchen and asked, "What are you doing today?"

"Nothing," I said.

Peeved, she said, "That's what you did yesterday."

I replied, "I wasn't finished."

There's something to tickle everyone's funny bone. Teachers, speakers, pastors, writers, and anyone who loves to laugh will enjoy this impressive collection of jokes, bulletin bloopers, and amusing quotes--enough for a whole year of laughter!

More About the Author

Jim Kraus is a longtime writer and editor who has authored or co-authored more than 20 books, both fiction and nonfiction. His best-selling humor book, Bloopers, Blunders, Jokes, Quips, and Quotes, was published by Tyndale House Publishers, sold more than 40,000 copies and inspired several spin-off books. Jim, and his wife, novelist Terri Kraus, and one son, live in the Chicago area.
Also residing with them is a sweet and gentle miniature schnauzer named Rufus. Coincidently, Rufus is also the name of the dog in Jim's latest book, The Dog That Talked to God. "What a coincidence," Jim said. "What are the odds of that happening?" They also share space with an ill-tempered Siberian cat named Petey.
Jim recently was awarded a Master of Writing Arts degree from DePaul University. "Now, I am able to write more better," Jim said. (Yes, that is supposed to be humorous.)
Passionate about writing, Jim loves to create true-to-life characters. "I tend to be the one at the party that is on the edge of things--observing how folks act and react. Plus, I'm not that crazy about people in general--so it works out fine." (Again, it's supposed to be funny.)
The idea of the last book came from Jim's twice-daily walks with his dog, Rufus. "I tend to think through problems as we walk, and I sometimes, softly, pose questions to the noble dog Rufus. And if he could, he would answer them. I know he wants to. Sometimes I give his answers a voice. And I imagined that most pet-owners do the same thing. The idea of a talking dog didn't seem so far-fetched. And the story grew from there."

This book provides a compilation of the authors favorite jokes, bloopers & funny quotes then, separated into sections of 2 to 4 entries apiece, making up for the 362 daily "Laugh-a-Day" entries.
I've read approximately 10% of the book so far and, have yet to find any glaring typographical or grammatical errors. I feel this is important; that the jokes be well edited in order to fully understand the details of each of them.
I especially appreciated the explanation given in the Prologue about the types of jokes that were chosen by the author and why. This had made me feel more comfortable when reading these certain jokes.
I'm sure I will not continue reading this book exactly as it was designed or intended to be read with it's daily set up but, rather will read several days worth at a time in one setting.
I recommend getting this book if you're looking for some good, clean material that'll make you laugh. =)

I keep this in my car so if I am stuck somewhere for awhile, I can lighten up. It's good to keep the hubby busy while he waits for me. When I come back, he usually shares a joke instead of being upset I took so long. Though clean, a few of the jokes would not be considered potically correct. I"m old enough to "get it" while not necessarily totally agreeing.
Laughter is good medicine!

There are 364 days worth of bloopers, quotes, and jokes. I read a days worth of laughs every evening. It is a great way to unwind. There are jokes for everone. To get an idea of what kind of "tickle your funny bone" humor is in this book, just look at some of the highlights listed below on the Amazon page. One of my favorites is "Everyone is entitled to be foolish sometimes, but many people abuse the privilege." This book helps me to go to sleep with a smile on my face.

I will not lie: Not every joke, quote or blooper contained in this book will make you laugh. Some will make you cry! On a few occasions I found myself leaking tears from my eyes and laughing so loudly my wife came into the room with raised eyebrows wondering what on earth was wrong with me. Now, of course, it would be impossible to put together a book where every joke or blooper would make everyone laugh all the time. After all, everyone's sense of humour is very different. But Jim Kraus has done an admirable job at creating a book that is simply chock full of laughter-inducing jokes and quotes, and there is definitely something there for everyone. My absolute favourites are the bulletin-bloopers, which often left me gasping for breath after reading them! I'm glad I was not reading them in a bulletin in an actual church - I would have absolutely lost it reading the blooper in the middle of a sermon (for alas, I have been guilty of subtly perusing the bulletin during a, shall we say, slower paced sermon). The best part about this book is that it is wonderfully clean! There will be no laughing at a joke and then suddenly wishing you hadn't. These jokes are suitable to be read out loud to your significant other, to your children, to your mother-in-law, even your grandparents. In fact, I encourage you to do so!

I highly recommend this book and give it 5 out of 5 stars. Well done Jim Kraus!

The title is "Laugh-a-Day," but for each day there is a joke (or collection of two-line jokes or truisms), a blooper (often from church bulletin boards), and a quote (inspiring, humorous, or thought-provoking). While a handful of the jokes made me laugh out loud, most elicited a chuckle or smile. Fun to read in odd moments to pass the time.

MY CHILDREN ALL ENJOYED READING THIS BOOK - THEY ENJOY GIVING EACH OTHER JOKES WHILE THEY ARE PLAYING. ESPECIALLY THE KNOCK-KNOCK JOKES.
