Product Description

The Mr. Sniffles Egg Separator is a fun and slightly revolting way to separate the yolk from the egg white. You just crack an egg into Mr. Sniffles' head then gently tip him forward. You will start cracking up when you see the egg whites suddenly come oozing out his nose. When you're done, the yolks are left behind in his head. The Mr. Sniffles Egg Separator can also be used for gravy and maple syrup, as well. (There are so many ways to have fun with this gross thing.)

I wanted to get this for my daughter who is just getting into cooking and would love using it. Up until now we just washed the outside of the eggs and used it to separate the yolk & whites. I thought the full price of this product was too expensive so I saved up my Swagbucks until I have enough in Amazon gift cards to pay for half. And, I am so glad I did not pay full price. While it is a novel idea (and really cute in a weird sort of way) it is incredibly difficult to use.

My daughter wanted to try making egg nog and we needed to separate about a dozen eggs. The Snot-A-Mug Egg Separator definitely took practice to get the technique down. We lost the first 3 eggs. If you tip the egg separator too far over the yolk will break but if you do not tip it enough you can not get all the egg white out. I figured out I needed to take a spoon and gently slide it under the yolk to keep it from going through the "nostrils". By egg 8 I gave up and went back to the good old fashion way of just using the egg shells. Guess we have a cute item that will sit in my cabinets until I find someone else to 'gift' it to.

Ok, I'll admit I smiled when I opened up the little package this came it. Mr. Snot-A-Mug is whimsical, and it works. However it still suffers the limitations of just about every other egg-separator out there: you can only separate one egg at a time. While it looks like you could put three or four eggs in at once, the separator holes (i.e., nostrils) are set rather low (I guess which makes sense anatomically) which means in reality at most you can put two eggs in at the same time. And even then, you won't get a complete egg separation. Since the holes are in the nose which protrudes outward, every time you tip the rig to separate the yolks slide into the nose and block the holes (congestion?). There's always some white left! Oh well, it works, it looks funny, and the wife likes it, so...win?

Yes, S'not a Mug is cute but not very functional. I separated one egg, put the yolk in a separate cup, and then added two eggs to see what would happen. Besides the first egg's "snot" leaving a little mess on my counter top (I'll place the mug on a plate next time), one nostril got "clogged" with a yolk. I put a spoon inside the mug to hold the yolk back, but the yolk broke, and then I had the same problem with the second yolk.

I can see this being a big hit for those of you that have young children/grandchildren and ask them to separate an egg or two. Just my opinion, but I'd think S'not a Mug would prove too time consuming for any recipe requiring the separating of more than 2 eggs.

No, he's not called "Mr. Snot", but that's what we call him. He's definitely a hit at my daughter's house and he makes everyone laugh as soon as they see him in action. This was a great, fun and useful gift for my daughter, who loves to cook!

This is by far the best working egg separator I've ever purchased. It works best when you let the eggs get to room temperature before trying to separate them.

Not only is this an extremely cute novelty item that looks good on my kitchen shelf, it also works very well. The separator I had did not do at all well as the slots were too wide and the yolks would slip through. The Snot-A-Mug comes with instructions that, when followed, means success...

We had friends over one evening for a small dinner party and when I was preparing dessert I showed the egg separator and how it worked to my guests. Some were disgusted, some appalled, and some laughed until they
cried. I have two friends who have ordered them and it's always a topic for discussion especially if the conversation lulls.

I had a Snot-A-Mug egg separator before, but it fell casualty to our over-sized sheepdog and the tile floor. Needless to say, I was happy to see that I could purchase one online and not have to wait until our next trip to Kittery, ME. It may not be the most functional egg separator in the world, but it is certainly a conversation piece and works great as a decorative wooden spoon holder, as it is used in our household. That said, you can, in fact, separate eggs with the Snot-A-Mug just fine.
