While my enthusiasm is more tempered than the previous reviewer, this DVD held my interest well until the end. There were definitely lots of launch scenes accompanied with two shuttle landings. The pre-launch scenes were material I had not seen in other programs making this a nice surprise.
I could tell that the maker struggled with ensuring the NASA logos and employees were not visible with various tricks that sometimes got in the way, though nothing too serious. Additionally, the audio of the commentators could have been clearer. Considering I have watched NASA TV during launches and know the original audio to be compressed, this too is negligible. Overall, I enjoyed this DVD well enough to say I'll be watching it again.

We got this after watching The Visible Universe thinking it would be okay. This program was outstanding. It was cool to see how they prepare for launches which seems a massive undertaking. Above all, it was the unbelievable power of the rocket boosters along with the music that made our bones shake rattle and roll. Best thing, my kids loved it which makes this worth every star.

This dvd was definitely not what I had expected. I somehow thought it might be a documentary. It was more of a music video. There was no narration at all. The music was ok, but it was kinda cheesy, basically late 80s early 90s rock...no credits given. The footage was really good, and the cutting was good I thought, it was mostly interesting. The only thing was that the series of every single launch since STS-114 got a bit tedious. I actually fell asleep for part of it. Not really intellectual stuff, but great footage nonetheless. I just wish it had been more informative. Really only good for space dorks like me, other people probably won't get through the whole thing.

For a music video it was pretty cool. The shuttle footage and cuts was quite well done. The music was not bad and seemed to fit okay. No complaints. Thanks a bunch.

Still hasn't arrived, Amazon US freight times are too excessive. Seldom get good in the nominated time period and it's not cheap postage either !

What is good and what is not so good lies in the eyes of the beholder. Being a NASA Shuttle fan I bought this DVD simply because it had a great picture on the front in combination with the text "Launched is a high octane 37 million horsepower adrenaline rush filled with speed and extreme power. Each section is ideally complimented with either Manson style Heavy Metal or easy listening Rock Music." If you are not too critical with regards to mixing the proud Shuttle with thundering rock music this DVD will give you some value for your money. But, if you are just a tiny bit more serious and expect to have the story of the advertised 37 million horsepower technically explained, then this is not the DVD for you. Sorry, three stars only!

This is a great source of shuttle launch footage for my 2 1/2 year old. Way better than watching single clips from youtube. The soundtrack, however, is asinine. It's like some guy with a drum kit, a cheap guitar and Garageband software pounded out a deathmetal riff that really has nothing to do with the space shuttle. Maybe it's supposed to convey the "power" of a rocket launch, but it really sucks.
