The LAURA ASHLEY DOWN ALTERNATIVE BLANKET is the warmest blanket you'll ever put on your bed and yet it is quite lightweight. Because my husband and I (and our dog) love it so much, I've purchased one for each of my three guest beds. In addition, I purchased another one for my husband and me on the outside chance it will one day be manufactured no longer, and I gave one to a friend for her birthday earlier this year and she loves hers and has thanked me many times over -- usually when she washes her Laura Ashley and uses another (inferior) blanket on her bed until she dries it! She's very picky and hard to please, but she says this is the best gift I've ever given her in the twenty years we've been friends, which is quite a compliment coming from her. I have purchased another for her for Christmas, as well as one for my sister for Christmas and one for a friend for her December birthday. I'm sure I'll get rave reviews for such a fabulous gift from them, also. You cannot go wrong purchasing this blanket. It is luxuriously soft, reasonably priced, warm, but lightweight.
