5.0 out of 5 stars Heaven in Bed!
I ordered these sheets, not because they were Laura Ashley and not even because they were insanely cheap, but because I wanted a good heavy flannel sheet set that would fit my exceptionally thick mattress and 3" memory foam pad, and allow me to turn down the thermostat and save a few bucks on the gas bill. The day they arrived just happened to be the day I was changing...

1.0 out of 5 stars Laura Ashley? My eye!
These sheets were such a letdown from the first Laura Ashley sheets I purchased. The flannel (?) is rough, the hems are turned once & skimpy, the bottom is not even hemmed and the corners keeps popping off my pillowtop mattress. Unfortunately, I destroyed the packaging without inspecting the sheets or they would have gone back. Don't waste your money as I did. They...

3.0 out of 5 stars Since there is no picture here, you roll the dice, December 22, 2005
Well, I looked at the other patterns for the Laura Ashley cotton flannel sheet sets, and liked the price, but of

the patterns that were left in stock for king sheets under $20,

most were rather feminine and busy. I figured for $19.99, I could take a chance on Laport. I had searched all over the web and could find no pictures. Well, I received them today and have to say I am pretty surprised by the pattern. It is an animal print that is mainly a dark brown with large, wide, crossing stripes of a leopard print. The stripes are probably 3" wide and alternate light and dark leopard prints, leaving squares around 7"-8" each side of the dark brown pattern. Hope that is somewhat clear for anyone who has no clue what pattern Laport is. The flannel feels soft and sturdy. I'm going to wash them now and put them on the bed. I'd definitely rate this pattern as masculine, for anyone who wants to know. I'm going to use them, but I wanted to give a little more info for anyone else who is on the fence. I'd rate them higher if they didn't look like something from the Peg Bundy collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heaven in Bed!, January 13, 2006

I ordered these sheets, not because they were Laura Ashley and not even because they were insanely cheap, but because I wanted a good heavy flannel sheet set that would fit my exceptionally thick mattress and 3" memory foam pad, and allow me to turn down the thermostat and save a few bucks on the gas bill. The day they arrived just happened to be the day I was changing the bed linen, so they went right from the box, into the washer and dryer. (I always wash any sheet before using-- the fabric finish is hard on the skin.) They came out of the dryer as good as they went in, only softer! They went on the bed like a dream with a exceptional amount of room to wrap around my "princess-thick mattress." They smoothed out and have never shown a wrinkle! And to sleep under-- DIVINE! Heaven in Bed! I'm seriously considering buying another set!

One more thing...the color is a definate INDIGO blue with a slightly off white. They go very well with my original indigo dyed quilt! GO GET EM BEFORE I BUY THEM ALL!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not first quality! Holes and damage! Beware!, December 25, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The sheet fabric is good quality, washes well, and is soft and cuddly.

But like another reviewer (for a different pattern of these sheets), I found a large hole in one of the sheets after I washed it. Fortunately, mine was on a seam so I could stitch it up easily, but why should I have had to? There was also a piece of masking tape and a small mark next to the damaged place.

These sheets are obviously not first quality, and probably not second quality, either. The damage was not unnoticed and was not repaired. Amazon is being dishonest in not disclosing the problems with these sheets in the listing. Boo!!

But if you are a quilter or sewer who wants an amount of quality flannel at a good price, go for it.

I bought these sheets because they're Laura Ashley and the price was sure right, I figured even if they seemed awful I could give them away to somebody and the brand alone would make quite a splash. Well suffice it to say that the only splash they'll make is on my own bed for a long time to come! They're ideal flannel sheets ~ soft, well-made, well-sewn, with a classic rose pattern. The colors are more muted than bold, bluish and grey-green, anyway they look great on the bed and fit perfectly. They have deep pockets and strong elastic, which works to a tee for me, as I have a 3.5" memory foam topper on my Serta mattress. I recommend these sheets to anyone considering buying them ~ you'll get Laura Ashley quality even below Wal-Mart prices!

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT REALLY WORTH DISCOUNT PRICE, January 24, 2006
I washed these after received them and found one of the pillowcases had a large hole, appeared that stitching was missing in that area, I sewed it closed figuring it wasn't worth sending back for--Unfortunately I also have come to find the King set barely covers my mattress (not a pillowtop) and the bottom of the fitted sheet keeps popping off--Does not seem like "big name" quality and would not order anything from this line again

1.0 out of 5 stars Nice fabric but badly made, February 15, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
If I could give this product a Zero star rating, I would. While the flannel is nice, like the other reviewers I found that the stitching on the long edge of the sheet was completely botched. The sheets were also described as "deep pockets" but most certainly were NOT. If I didn't know better I'd think these were counterfeit items. At least Amazon credited (*most of*) the purchase price when I returned them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pattern fades quickly, January 21, 2006
By
NCMountains (North Carolina) - See all my reviews
I ordered these sheets in early December 2005 - I washed them before putting on my guest bed and they were very fluffy and soft. However, after my guests left and I washed the sheets a second time, the pattern faded very noticeably on the pillow cases, especially at the seams. I haven't noticed any fading on the flat or fitted sheet, just the pillowcases. I won't buy this brand of sheets again.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE IT!, January 5, 2006
I received this product two days ago and at first did not feel that soft, when I washed it, it was the softest thing on earth! It feels durable without pilling. I loved the texture and color. I was skeptical about the price and the quality, but that all changed.

I will certainly buy again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very soft sheet set!, December 31, 2005
I recently purchased this set, as well as another (the Novelty Stars 100% Cotton Luxury Flannel Twin Sheet Set), for my two children. My daughter (who is only 3 1/2) really liked the floral print, and I was in love with the price ($9.99!).

Both sets came yesterday. I must say, the Novelty Stars set seemed thicker, but this Laura Ashley Lidia set is SO much softer. I only give it a 4 (would prefer maybe 4 3/4 stars) because it doesn't seem quite as thick as the other set. [I bought these to accent the new blankets I purchased for both kids, so I can lower the thermostat at night. SO the thicker, the better.] But the sheets washed & dried quite well, my daughter loves them, and they kept her very warm last night- which is the most important part!
