Why did I write about ice cream? Well, for starters, it tastes great! And its history is fun and fascinating. Did you know that the Chinese were the first to make a frozen dessert? Or that a fight is still raging about which US town created the ice cream sundae? You can learn about these ice cream moments and more in Ice Cream: A Global History.
When not writing about ice cream, I'm a journalist covering food, travel and other lifestyle topics. You can find my articles in The New York Times, on FoodNetwork.com, in Travel + Leisure, and on Interior Design magazine's web site.
I feel very lucky to live in New York City and in my spare time, I'm an avid museum- and theater-goer. Plus, there's no end of great eats in New York. I love going to Brooklyn and Queens and discovering a new ethnic markets and eateries. Travel's another one of my passions. I've been to China, India, SE Asia and all over Europe. Needles to say, I've sampled ice cream from one end of the globe to the other!
