Can you say GARBAGE?, June 25, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Laura Lemay's Web Workshop: Microsoft Frontpage 97 (Paperback)
Lemay's Workshop series is proof positive that garbage sells! Well Lemay's name may sell books, but when you keep pushing bad books you are destined for judgment day and today is judgment day...I will never buy another Lemay book. No one in my family will ever buy another Lemay book. No one I know will ever buy another Lemay book

Lost interest, January 2, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Laura Lemay's Web Workshop: Microsoft Frontpage 97 (Paperback)
I bought this book because it's back cover summary seem to show that this is what I need to learn Frontpage97. But I got bored and lost interest after going a few chapters.

I learned a lot following along with the workshop, October 19, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Laura Lemay's Web Workshop: Microsoft Frontpage 97 (Paperback)
I learned by doing the exercises. I thought there was enough information to get you up to an advanced intermediate user. It's not laid out very well and the author seemed to be rushed to get the book out the door however if you follow along you will learn some cool things about FrontPage 97.

Lemay books have gone steadily down hill ever since Teach Yourself HTML. This particular book is the worst book I have ever read

Lacking at every turn! I hated it!, June 11, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Laura Lemay's Web Workshop: Microsoft Frontpage 97 (Paperback)
Talk about a walking disaster. This book really stinks. Not only does the author repeat herself continually, she also manages to confuse the issue more than she helps. I hated this book with a passion and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
If you are looking for a good book on FrontPage, I suggest getting FrontPage 97 Unleashed.

One of the WORST books I ever read!, June 2, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Laura Lemay's Web Workshop: Microsoft Frontpage 97 (Paperback)
The workshop formula just doesn't work (or at least it didn't for this book). The author didn't make sense and often confused the issues. Beyond this, the book also doesn't cover many aspects of publishing with FrontPage, which leaves many giant holes. Get Stanek's FrontPage 97 Unleashed instead

Content may be OK but delivery is poor, April 17, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Laura Lemay's Web Workshop: Microsoft Frontpage 97 (Paperback)
I feel the book went into gruesome detail into the mechanics of doing a task - repeatedly - instead of explaining it conceptually the first time as well and then referring to the procedures on subsequent occasions. While it is commendable that an internet site to support this book was set up it appeared to be rather ineffective in that I have seen very little activity or support for the book on that site. On the whole completing the web site example in the book proved to be a very unproductive and unrewarding experience
