A good, oil-free tinted moisturizer,
By Samia (Chicago, IL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 - Oil Free (Misc.)
This is a good, oil-free tinted moisturizer. I have been using the original formula for a couple of years now and I love it. Most other brands of tinted moisturizer that I have tried have little color and coverage. This product moisturizes as well as provides good coverage. Additionally, it has SPF 20 which blocks harmful UV rays. It is important to point out that the oil-free moisturizer has the same color and coverage as the original but does not go on as smoothly. I would recommend that you use the oil-free formula only if you really need it. This product is perfect for anyone who has oily skin, wants to shorten their cosmetic routine, protect their skin and look great!

THE BEST!!!!,

I decided there has to be something better out there than bare minerals, so I went looking for an oil-free tinted moisturizer. I have an oily t-zone and some dryness on my cheeks. I found Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer had won several beauty awards including awards by Allure, Instyle, and Sephora, so I bought it! I wore this all day on an 80 degree day and barely had any shine and the coverage looks like my skin, not cakey makeup! I use the Laura Mercier Mineral Finishing Powder on top of the tinted moisturizer. Lovely! It is pretty light coverage, so if you need more coverage in certain areas you might want to use concealer. This is the best makeup I have ever used!

A REAL STEP AND FACE SAVER,
This review is from: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 - Oil Free (Misc.)
Always on the lookout for what would get me off and running more quickly in the morning, I heard about this Tinted Moisturizer from Laura Mercier. It does the trick. There's no longer a need for me to use moisturizer, wait for it to be absorbed, and then apply foundation. Should mention up front that the natural look is my preference so I'm attracted to formulations with just a hint of color. Of course, the addition SPF 20 is a very real and practical bonus. When using this skin tends to have a very natural look but "better," if you will. My skin is fair so I use "Porcelain," which takes away the paleness but does not camouflage skin tone. It's best for me to apply the tint with fingertips and gently smooth. Wouldn't give up my foundation as it's needed for evenings and special occasions, but for daily use this Tinted Moisturizer really saves a step in the morning and saves my face all day.

Glowing complexion,

I don't like foundation, and my skin is prone to break out. I have uneven skin tone, and find that the Fresh face luster works quite well, but I've been looking for something with a little more coverage. This product works wonder on my face. It evens out my skin tone instantly and goes on smoothly. I have combination skin, so I use the oil free version, but I do recommend putting on your regular moisturizer prior to this product if you have dry cheeks like me. But the result is amazing, my skin looks glowing and natural all day. I always get compliments for my complexion these days.

TRY IT!,

I used Bare Escentuals for several years, then switched to Smashbox Halo because I was looking "cakey". Halo was fine for a bit but started to look too matte for me (I like a dewey look). I have never been a fan of any kind of liquid/cream/stick foundation (hate the sticky feel on the face) but since I wasn't happy w/mineral foundations anymore decided to try this oil-free tinted foundation. Why oil free: I have sensitive skin and there's a short questionnaire on Laura Mercier's website that recommends type of product and color to purchase.
The questionnaire recommended two shades from which to select. I opted for the darker shade (always go darker rather than lighter when in doubt) but it came with a sample of the lighter shade which I thought was smart! Tried both and really, a combo of the two would be perfect for me (thus the 4 starts rather than 5) but using the darker shade is what I will stick with. It provides great coverage for a tint! I was amazed and I don't have perfect skin (some fine red veins from rosacea). Some reviewers said it went on dry. Before I purchased I called the company and asked about the dry complaints; they said to apply it a little at a time covering small areas. I have normal skin and it was not dry at all. I tried doing larger areas and that's where I encountered problems. I am very pleased with this product and will definitely purchase again. If you have normal-dry skin I'd mix it with a little of your moisturizer but still put it on in small doses. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by this product. Oh, and by the way, when you finish applying it it will not look dewey, but wait a half-hour or so (Halo was like this, too) and you will see a beautiful finish and a glowing complexion. I definitely recommend this product but they need more shades.

Good product with several drawbacks.,

I'm mystified that they call this tinted moisturizer because I've used regular foundations that were more sheer than this stuff. Having said that this is a fairly nice product with a few drawbacks. One, it's very expensive. Two, it's not very blendable. I have to put regular moisturizer underneath this stuff to get it to go on evenly and smoothly. It is also feels somewhat greasy (like suntan lotion). I set it with Laura Mercier loose powder and it looks fine .... but is it worth $42 a tube? That's debatable. I think I'll try other tinted moisturizers before buying this one again.

My skin is crazy. Sometimes it's oily like there is no tomorrow and sometimes it's super dry. I haven't really noticed if it correlates with the seasons or not, but either way, once i found Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer, my dreams came true. It offers just the perfect amount of coverage without making my skin oily. It's also spf 20, which probably isn't enough protection, but it's better than nothing. And like many of the other reviewers said, it saves you time. Moisturize and foundation in one. I normally go over certain spots with concealer, but it does wonders for my skin.

Good tinted moisturizer.,
This review is from: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 - Oil Free Nude (Misc.)
After reading all the raves about Laura Mercier TM, I decided to finally try it. First off I recieved the package pretty quick and intact. My purchase came with a bunch of free samples which I thought was pretty neat. Now for the tinted moisturizer.. I haven't tried too many TMs so I can't really compare.. but this moisturizer is alright. I purchased it in Nude and it turned out to be too dark on me. That or the color oxidized? later in the day. You might need to purchase two different colors to get the right shade (which is pretty expensive). It does delivery buildable coverage like a foundation almost. I think the Oil-free one (the one I have) is not as thick as the regular one however so the coverage is more sheer. To get to the point, I think this is a good, high end tinted moisturizer and I probably would like it a lot more if it was my shade.

light, light coverage for day,

Light coverage that looks as if you're not wearing make-up. I first apply a true sunblock, then this tinted moisturizer. I don't think this provides both UVA and UVB block, so don't use this as a primary sunblock.
