Laurel Burch's fabrics, designs and projects are stunning! She has a `perfect' eye for what makes a successful project and has given her fans the opportunity to enter her world of creativity with Laurel Burch Legends. Quilters are allowed to `copy' or use her ideas as a jumping off point in their own creative journey.

Laurel Burch Legends showcases 9 projects that will excite and challenge quilters. The projects are not for the novice quilter. But their beauty will give the new quilter something to aim for.

Each project provides detailed directions. The photographs are brilliant and large enough to see much of the quilt's detail. There are even patterns that tell the quilter how much enlargement is needed. The section on tips and techniques for applique and embellishment is extremely helpful. I particularly enjoyed the sections on painting and stamping fabric. The Resources and Bibliography page will direct the quilter to the products referenced in the book.

My favorite project is the Folkloric Fish. It's a 13" by 36" machine appliqued quilt. The colors are brilliant, the fish are whimsical and it's small enough that it can be made in a relatively short period of time.

If you love art quilting, Laurel Burch Legends is a great book. You can follow her directions or veer off in your own direction, using her patterns as a guide.

I've purchased Laurel Burch designs since I was a kid and she was making delightful natural style earrings and other jewelry. I've since discovered her work in textiles and have many yards of that on hand. This quilting book was a natural outgrowth. I'm not really a quilter, so I doubt I'll use the designs included in the book for that purpose. What I will do is use her suggestions to make large motifs for my wall based on her designs. These are wonderful. I'm getting the other book Laurel Burch Quilts: Kindred Creaturesas well. If I ever get the time to do a project, photos will follow.

This book is so inspirational for me. I was impressed with the complete patterns for every quilt design.

As a recent Laurel Burch "convert", I just wish I had discovered her years ago. I love all of her abstract designs and psychedelic colors. First I went cuckoo over her cat, dog, and horse designs, but then I discovered Laurel Burch Legends, her wild animals, sea creatures, and mythicals book. Simply gorgeous! Her instructions are clear and easy to follow. Best of all, the patterns were included in the back of the book, although I bought it as a used book. I am going to have fun with this one!

This book is so amazing, either for quilters or Laurel Burch fans. It has simply beautiful quilt designs with incredibly detailed instructions from Laurel's work. This is also a book of absolutely beautiful examples of her wart which are worth looking at on their own. The price is also phenomonal!! Don't pass it up:)

Laurel Burch Legends is a wonderful book of patterns which can be converted into rug hooking or wool applique. The colours are a treat to the eye and the pattern pull outs are a good size. After showing this book to several friends, they are going to purchase it for their own library.

Once again Laurel's creative nature just flows through every page. Wonderful ideas. I have all of her books and was so sad to hear of her passing away. She will be missed, but you just have to look at her work and somehow she will always be here. A book to be tresured.

I've been a fan of Laurel Burch's creations for many years. All her books are stimulating. The colors and designs are large and easy to see. Laurel's color combinations are the best!!! You will get many ideas in this book.

I got this book and Bountiful Blessings for my birthday and have used them and enjoy them greatly. If you have just discovered Ms. Burches Art and designs you will find them fantastic. I intend to use them frequently and also to purchase her other books in the future.

Laurel Burch is great in my opinion anyday, her colours and designs are always fantastic. Gave me some good ideas, as well as the patterns if one wanted to do what is offered in the book. Love it.
