Product Description

Color: Natural

This Lauren brand 30-Inch steel string guitar is ideal for the young musician! Features include a classic dreadnought styled body and headstock with a natural finish. Due to the smaller scale length of the instrument, it's great for beginners or players with smaller hands. Sound, aesthetic, and price create the perfect harmony in this guitar.

Would not hold tuning.

I had the opportunity to play one of these before buying, so I knew what I was getting. It is a cheap but serviceable little guitar for an unskilled beginner. It is better than I expected for the price. It doesn't have a very good tone but I expect a better set of strings would help. The finish on mine is excellent and it holds tuning reasonably well.

Update:
I've had this little guitar for a while now. I replaced the strings and it now sounds great. It holds it tuning very well. Easy to play and holding up well. You can't help but wonder what some folks expect for this price.

I bought the hot pink and metallic blue guitars for my 6 and 7 1/2 year old granddaughters for Christmas and they are happily playing and taking lessons. I had my friend, a professional banjo and guitar player, lower the action on the guitars before Christmas, and inspect them. He pronounced them "just right" for little girls. He has a 14-year-old granddaughter who started on a similar instrument that was much more expensive. The strings have stretched nicely and several stay in tune now. They are not top quality, of course, but are adequate for beginners. They are, of course, adorable. I gave them lessons for several weeks until I could find a local instructor, and he was blown away by the little guitars, and how easy it is for the girls to make the chords (thanks to lowering). They get lots of oooohs and aaahs when they come walking in with their little guitar cases on their backs (also bought on Amazon) and take the guitars out. It gives them a lot of confidence and they love to practice. They can't wait to play for their classes and at the bluegrass jam sessions we go to every month. I highly recommend these guitars!
The 7-year-old and 1/2 is learning by leaps and bounds, and is already picking a string and then strumming, and strumming down and up. She is reading ahead in her book. I think this must be a great age to start guitar. The 6-year-old is strumming down and up, but she likes to "wing it" a lot. She is the "songwriter," and can tell when a string is out of tune when she is playing a chord (to the instructor's chagrin he said the other day when he didn't notice the E was way off when she played a C chord). They can both use the electronic tuner. Oh, and Miss 6 informed me she needs a "brown" guitar, too, for playing on stage, because, "I'll be on stage a lot," lol. She says everyone (meaning all her heroes) play "brown" guitars on stage, and she'll use the pink one for practice :)

My husband was going to give my daughter a guitar for Christmas, but we knew my three year old son would want to play with it, so we got him this. It's beautiful!!! It has great sound. I don't know how well it stays in tune yet, but the sound is amazing for something so inexpensive. The neck is small, and easy for kids to play, but hard for adults, but I can do it ok.

The build quality isn't great, and the sound is kind of tinny, but the action is suprisingly low and smooth, and it is a great starter guitar for my 6 year old. And I won't feel too bad when he accidently drops it.

Nice looking guitar and good size for my 6 year old son. He can hold it and use the fretboard much easier than with a full size guitar. But this guitar can't hold a tune for more than a day.

I purchased this as a toy for my 2 yr old. I don't think it's great as a real instrument, but my own guitars are fairly high end. I do not like "toy" instruments for kids because i really believe that child-size instruments should operate with the same principles as standard instruments. I'd say for the price, it's a great bargain. If I play carefully and don't press down too firmly on the strings, I can reasonably play it myself. Again, I bought this to be used as a toy for a child. If you are looking for something to be used for actual instruction, I would look elsewhere.

Ordered as a present for a 6 year old. Not intonated properly and no options to adjust. Would not hold tuning. Action was too high and neck slightly bent so fretting a string caused the note to be significantly sharp.

Paint job was not good, and fretboard was painted black, and not wood. Paint on fretboard was also worn and inlay paint was scratched.

Would not recommend I returned this and ordered a Rogue Starter Acoustic Guitar Blue Burst and received a nice quality starter guitar for a child.

I received the guitar quickly and happily - until I opened the package and inspected the item. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift but I returned it instead. The finish on it had so many flaws that I just could not give it. Dark particles had been sealed into the varnish on top of the lighter colored wood right on the face. In addition when I tried to tune the guitar the tuning machines just couldn't provide proper tension on the steel strings, they kept skipping and I could not reach proper tension on two strings therefore making it impossible to tune. I did not expect much for the price but i did expect it to look decent and tune so it would be playable. I do not recommend this guitar. It does not meet any sort of minimum standard.
