Here's a fun lacing project with a great payoff--brightly colored felt hand puppets. The kit comes with six 9-inch precut felt shapes, lacing yarn, and six large plastic needles, each ball-tipped for safety. Once children finish lacing, they can use felt remnants (also included) to add faces, clothes, and other decorations to their puppets. They can also use whatever decorating supplies you might have on hand, such as glitter, sequins, pasta pieces, beads, or extra yarn. This is a great project for individuals or groups. My 5 year old daughter received this puppet kit and absolutely loves it! It is so easy to sew with the plastic needles that even my 3 year old son (who gets very easily frustrated) does great with it! I am buying another set today for my 3 year old niece.

I have 3 kids, ages 3. 7 and 8. This kit was fun for ALL of them! The needles are easy to use and safe, we had so much fun, even I made a puppet, and then they had hours of fun playing with them! I highly recommend this kit. I used a hot glue gun to make putting the faces on a little easier.

My grandaughter (age 5) has asked me to teach her to sew. This is the perfect teaching toy. It's easy and she loves making different characters. She can sew, cut out ears, eyes and different shapes to glue onto the puppets. All of the puppets are precut and the holes are stamped out to sew. The needles are blunt. This is a toy that keeps a child's creative juices flowing and also teaches skills of sewing, cutting, gluing and using your imagination. I highly recommend this for boys or girls.
