This is a perfect puzzle/toy/game for preschoolers, special needs kids, etc. They are very durable, washable, will last!! You can use them as puzzles, use the small pieces for sorting & counting, use the numbers to teach counting & writing numbers, the puzzle boards can be used as stencils...the possibilities are endless for a seemingly 'simple' idea. These are great, & a must-have!

I got both the alphabet and the number puzzle toys from Lauri and I'm pretty pleased with both of them. My son (24 months old) is playing with the number puzzle more, just because it's easier for him right now. He would occasionally play with the alphabet one too but only with my help. Overall, I recommend both.

This seems like a simple toy that kids might get bored with, but no! It keeps the attention of kids from toddler age up to about 5. Great for counting, sorting, fine motor, vocabulary. It does have a lot of little pieces, but since my kids have been so engaged with it, and putting the pieces back in is the whole point, the kids have been amazingly self-monitoring about keeping track of the parts! Now on its 5th kid, my toddler is using 1, 2 and 3 and will move on to other numbers soon. Highly recommended-- few toys offer this much learning and fun for the price.

My daughter loves these mini-puzzles, as she calls them. Each has a number from 1-10 with the same amount of things, from apples to fishies. They really help her learn to count and know her numbers and she will sit and do them for an hour at times.

This is a great toy because it is so versatile. You can use it as a puzzle or use the pieces alone for a variety of counting, matching, and sorting games. I would highly recommend all the Lauri toys; we have several and my youngest two kids (ages 3 and 6) enjoy all of them. We homeschool, and I keep these in a box of toys I only get out during school to keep my 3yo busy at the table. This keeps the toys special and keeps the pieces from getting lost.

This is an interesting toy. Our 22m old liked it a lot. When we opened it we took away most of the cards and gave our daughter only 3 cards. There are a lot of parts and we did not want them to get lost. Cards are not too large only about 2.5in by 4in. online picture made it look like these cards were 8in by 11in. Now that we played with it I am glad they are small. Our daughter likes the size. The problem that we had with this set is that the foam is too thin. I wish it was thicker. Cards are very soft. When our 22m old caries them around parts can come out. I would not give these cards to the kid and walk away. This toy is a lot of fun when you play with it together.

I guess I didn't pay enough attention to the size of each puzzle but it came as a surprise to me how small the pieces are for the numbers above 4 or 5. :/ I might exchange this for the one with the pegs.

This is a great game to encourage number recognition and counting. Some of the smaller pieces can be difficult for little fingers to put back, but with time they catch on. Now, that my daughter has mastered the numbers and shapes we line numbers up in order and practice counting forwards and backwards. I recommend keeping the pieces in a Ziploc bag as it is easy to lose the smaller shapes.

This toy is great because there are so many different ways to play with it. You can put the puzzles together, count the objects, sort them into groups, trace the numbers to practice writing, etc. We use ours for all these activities and are always finding new ways to use this great toy. I definitely recommend it.

Just be aware that each puzzle is not very big so the pieces to the higher numbers are rather small. The company does replace parts so this is a minor issue unless you have other children in your household that are still putting things in their mouths. This did not occur to me while reading the description or reviews. I was so impressed with the reviews that I overlooked the dimensions. I was going to purchase it for a relative's child but decided to keep it for my own kids once I considered the age range of her household. On the upside manipulating the smaller pieces will improve your child's dexterity. So, this is a great educational puzzle with a great texture and easy to clean, durable material that does have several small pieces.
