I won this at a contest at work and was pleasantly surprised, although I shouldn't have been by the word "melamine" that they were plastic! I just didn't really think about what melamine meant - guess not familiar enough with the word. So if you're not looking for plastic don't go here!

But I was hoping for some cute plates for my patio set and these are perfect! They are pretty good quality and the designs are great!

The plates are all different colors, there's a red, blue, lime green and orange with the same designs you see on the page. The smaller plates are all the same - too bad because I thought they'd be cute in the same colors as the big plates. The bowls all have the cute flower designs inside but the outsides are plain.

All of them are good sized and lightweight. I'm excited to use them and the reason why I'm even on this site today was to find out how much they cost so I could buy another set of four so I could use them for dinner parties and stuff.

I am just loving my new brightly colored dishes ! They are such good quality and so shiny and larger size than I was expecting... Thanks !

A great set of dishes to add color to your table! Great quality. Guests always comment on how great they look.

I love Laurie Gates, and I think these are a really cute design, but if I had it to do over again I think I would go in another direction. I didn't realize what Melamine was, it is hard to clean and food slides off it. But I do the the design, but I could have gotten alot more if I went in another direction for the money

I bought 3 sets of these to foil my children's plans to destroy my nice plates. Not only did this work, but now we don't use the breakable plates at all. These plates feel heavy enough that you will think they are stoneware. I had the family over for dinner and my sister's son dropped his plate after eating his food. My sister saw it happening and I could see her horrified face turn to pleasant surprise. She has melamine plates from Target but they are much thinner and feel like plastic.

You aren't supposed to microwave on these but I have found that a minute in the microwave doesn't hurt the plate, nor make it too hot. More than a minute on my stoneware plates made the plate too hot anyway so we are used to using a different container to heat larger quantities of food.

I'm very happy that I purchased these plates. I do not miss cleaning up a broken plate one bit. I had a hard time finding a pattern that I liked and that would match my kitchen. (maple counters, grey granite counters with red accents). The red plate is a perfect primary red. The only thing that isn't fantastic is that the bowls fit weird in my dishwasher but that might just be my ancient dishwasher! (It has oddly-spaced spokes.)
