Product Description

Never argue over the toilet seat again! The His and Her Motion Activated Toilet Night Light, also know as the Lav Nav, using its hi-tech infrared motion sensor, sees you approaching in the dark and instantly illuminates the toilet area with gentle color-coded lighting. For him, if the seat is up, red lighting provides the perfect guiding light. For her, red tells her the seat is up, while green indicates the seat is down. After you leave, this Motion Activated Toilet Night Light automatically turns itself off.

No more turning on the light in the night.

Our Lav Nav unit's light seems to activate as soon as someone gets within 8 to 10 feet from it, which is fine for our needs.

Just attach it to the lid. It stays out of the way and clean. It is very simple to replace the battery as well, but it hasn't yet needed a replacement. Only nit would be that I'd prefer to switch the colors. Currently red means bad for girls, good for guys. In our house this device work more as a targeting agent without turning on the lights.

After using this for a couple days, I can't figure out why they're not standard issue in toilet seats. The red and green lights are cute- even with just the red light, there is plenty of light to know if the seat is down (c'mon women, just CHECK BEFORE YOU SIT - it's really not that hard).

I know the red is supposed to be the "warning" color the seat isn't down, but it also happens to be the best color for night time use (and black and white film darkrooms). It's the main reason I bought it - light the bowl/room enough I can see where to go without the harshness and shocking yourself totally awake with the regular light.

Also, for many bathroom layouts, this helps because often turning on a regular light will shine into the bedroom and wake the sleeping bear... I mean wife.

Great for kids too - gives them something to aim at instead of the random firehose pattern.

This product works great! Never again do I have to hear about leaving the toilet seat up. It's been a great gift for all the men in my family and a blessing for the women. I highly recommend this product.

I had a very similar product I have had for 10 years. It's really been reliable and held up but for changing batteries.

This product is very good quality with bright LED lights and a very good sensor for motion and also light and dark. It's very easy to mount also. The only thing you have to remember is to put it up high so the bottom of the lid covers it. The only small negative is that it is abit of a challenge for me anyhow to get the back slid off to insert or change the batteries.

Excellent product - could save from marital strife and also a bad/dangerous fall in the dark onto or into a hard and cold porcelain bowl!

This is a great thing for the bathroom the only thing I found wrong is that it is real easy to knock off it's holder and fall in the toilet if they could come up with an idea to correct this it would be a 5 star rating

I bought this more as a gag but they use it. It really does light green for boys and red for girls. Its a nightlight toliet finder all in one. I like it because you do not have to turn on the bright bathroon light at 2:00AM and wake yourself up. Just go into the bathroom, see what color the light is, go, then go back to bed. Prefect. A must for all bathrooms.

At what age do boys start remembering to put the seat back down? Has not reliably happened yet at 13...

Our son and his 17 year old sister share a 'jack & jill' type bathroom. From time to time we have been wakened by her screaming "I'm gonna kill him!" as she struggled to regain her balance after taking an undesirable dip in the commode. We suggested that she turn on the overhead light, but (understandably) she really isn't awake during those occasional 2AM trips and those lights truly are bright at that time of the night.

So... given the reviews of this product we opted to give it a try, and we have not been disappointed. As long as you leave the lid up so that the motion detector can 'see' you coming, and as long as it is dark in the room, the night light turns on as you approach the toilet. Our Lav Nav unit's light seems to activate as soon as someone gets within 8 to 10 feet from it, which is fine for our needs. Both colors (red when the seat is up, and green when it is down) are bright enough to help you 'zero in' on the commode without ruining your night vision.

As long as the green light is on you are 'good to go', so our daughter has not, ummm, fallen overboard since we put a Lav Nav on their shared toilet! Excellent for her, and great for us too as we have not been subjected to her late night frustration since.

If you have a similar need and are looking for this type of solution, then we recommend the Lav Nav.

Go for it!

Just what I expected. It produces the right amount of light to prevent any accidents. Be careful removing battery compartment cover, it slides sideways...

UPDATE: I liked the idea of this but not long after writing the review the unit died! I didn't even get 2 weeks... I removed unit and got lazy about the return. It ticks me off every-time I am in the restroom and I see it. Debated on purchasing a second unit but decided against it for fear of same thing happening to me again. Proceed with caution...
