I think it is important to mention somewhere in the product information that this is a battery operated item and the electrical cord is not included. I am enjoying the item, but would have liked to know that this is not like the classic lava lamps that I have purchased in the past.

I just recieved this today and I LOVE it!!! Its smaller than a standard Lave Lite, which I LOVE, I keep Halloween decorations out all year round and this fits in perfectly!!! I dont really mind that it runs on batteries, if it becomes an issue, I'll purchase the outlet. And the skins are so much fun, and give off a great effect, I plan on changing them out depending on my mood!!!
