This product worked wonderfully for 1 week. Then it stopped working, the wax would just float at the top. Sending it back cost me a $5 restocking charge, plus another $9 for shipping and handling.

The lava did not melt very well and it was hard to see the white lava through the blue liquid.

This product got shipped to me really quick and it works great, i would recommend this to anyone. Really pleased with my purchase

When your step mother walks into your man cave and complains that your lava lamp is waisting energy because it is not working as it should, then you got a problem. I personally believe this company is trying to profit off the new "wesession wax" by applying it rather then the wax that actually dose somthing... yeah. Move on, nothing to see here...

THis is a really nice product; i can just stand there all day (if it wasn't for school) and watch this lamp. When you get the item there are a few things you have to put into account:
1. It can take 8 hours (maximum) for it to get warmed up & working, after that it ususally takes an 1 1/2 hour to get warmed up.
2.The product MUST be handled carfully or the big glass full of wax (not too heavy) might drop on your foot and shatter into many painful little shards. Other than that it is perfect! Oh, the wax turns a little green because of the light... I Recommend it!

Made the mistake of ordering this in the summer months, without reading the reviews (I'm old enough to remember the originals and, like so many other mis-steps in my life, was sure I knew what I was doing). Got the blue and white lamp, but instead of the gentle, soothing hypnosis of flowing lava, was confronted with liquid so murky I literally couldn't see the lava unless my nose was pressed against the glass. Not the experience I'd hoped for. Tried some remedies suggested on other sites (turn it on/let it run/turn it off,turn it on/let it run/turn it off,turn it on/let it run/turn it off, etc. ad nauseum), but improvement was negligible and I was forced to return the lamp. Amazon was delightful, as always, and perhaps I'll try again when the weather's cold enough to prevent an emulsion.

I ordered this lava lamp for my son, who lost his in our house fire last summer. The lava lamp came quickly, but it was suppose to be blue liquid with white lava and it came with yellowish/green lava. The cylinder it arrived in was nice and showed a lamp with the correct color of liquid and lava. It takes an extremely long time for the lava to move. His old one worked much better. It also has a ding in the silver metal base. I am not impressed.

My first buy from Amazon and it has been an overall disappointing experience, with the small positive aspect being that this will be my last purchase.


The first problem is that this lava lamp does not have white or clear wax. It is blue fluid with YELLOW wax, and even when not in operation it is obvious that the wax is yellow. One of my grande lava lamps consists of the exact same colors, so I know this is not a defect of some kind.

The next problem is the cloudiness of this lamp. Cloudiness indicates to me that this lamp was more than likely kept in a facility where storage temperature is not monitored, because cloudiness in newer lava lamps are typically a result of the affected lamps being kept under extreme cold or extreme heat for long periods of time. I have been told this can be fixed without anything complex but I have had no such luck with either method.

This experience served as a nice way of reminding me why I do not buy from online stores unless its something that can be kicked like a football, tossed like a basketball, or left out in the sun/snow for days without taking damage.

In Summation: 25 dollars spent to remind me of a lesson I forgot long ago.

The liquid is so cloudy that the lava cannot be seen!
I have ordered three of these Lava Lite 52 oz Lava Lamp - White/Blue/Silver lava lamps and all arrived defective. I've also ordered two of the Lava Lite 52 oz Lava Lamp - Yellow/Blue/Silver lamps and those were defective too. I read another review somewhere that mentioned the lamps might be shaken in transit during warm weather, thus causing the cloudy mess. I'm not going to keep returning for replacement during this warm weather. I suspect that the combination of 90+ degree heat and a bouncing UPS truck might be causing the problems. I'll try again during the winter months to see if I can finally get a functional lava lamp.
