While there are lots of small coffee roasters whose espressos I enjoy, this is truly a good basic everyday espresso. Espressos should be dark and full bodied. This one is rich and flavorful. It makes a nice crema. It is also good for using in a countertop espresso machine. We have a Jura Capressa E8 Super Automatic. A lot of the flavored coffees and roasts that are too dark gum up the system and make it sluggish. And while it is not a big deal to change the grinder, it is probably better to use a bean the machine likes.

I've tried a few of the other lavazza blends, but i keep coming back to this one as the best. I always make latte and this holds up well with the milk.I consider the Illy espresso among the best tasting commercial brands and this is close to that.

Smooth and chocolately,

I spent a lot of time seeking the right bean for my fully automatic espresso maker. Wanted a bean that was smooth with a chocolate finish and not oily. Top Class is that coffee. The product is also well priced.

Not as good as Lavazza Tierra, but good nonetheless. Superautomatic machines need beans to match, and Lavazza and Illy do the trick. Starbucks beans in a superautomatic taste terrible.

I like these beans because they are consistent, non-oily and flavorful. It is not a strong espresso so I add more beans to make the espresso strength that I like best. Works really well in my semi-automatic machine.

We use this coffee as our everyday cup and while it is very dark, the flavor is rich and full but not bitter. I grind it coarse for French press. I have tried many more expensive coffees but we keep going back to the Lavazza

Spending time in Europe, a couple years ago, we became espresso lovers and have searched for great beans to enjoy. These beans have awesome flavor and create thick, flavorful creme. However, the cost has gone up enough, I'll have to look for another supplier.

Great bean for espresso (hence the name)! On a rancilio rocky and silvia, the bean can taste anywhere between bright to chocolaty and rich. I am still a bit inconsistent with my shots and haven't quite gotten a good handle on the temperature characteristics of my machine yet, but I am happy enough with this bean that I expect to use it for a while. Price is competitive when compared to fresh-roasted beans, which may or may not influence your decision. However, the downsides are that the beans are not freshly roasted, which does make quite a bit of a difference in crema and taste, in my opinion. Additionally, the beans will lose even more freshness after you open the bag and try to get through 2.2 lbs of the stuff (even if you put it in an airtight container, as I do). However, its a great bean that I am happy with.

My husband loves this brand of coffee, we have a standing order for it! We've even gifted it to others, so fresh!
