What can I say, I'm a coffee snob.

While I'll continue to purchase Dek for espresso, I'll be buying this as well since it's less expensive and works very well.
Comdet
The coffee is good, but a bit strong for my taste.

The regular coffee I describe as full body and about the same strength as Dunkin. The decaf doesn't have the same after taste that the regular does. But I think that's true for all decaf. The Lavazza espresso decaf has better flavor, which gives you the after taste flavor that one typically gets when drinking espress, but not as strong.

Neither my husband nor I liked the flavor of this coffee. It has an odd "off" flavor that makes it undrinkable to me. I was very disappointed, since I bought it due to all the favorable reviews. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I'm giving it to our cleaning lady. Hopefully she'll like it better than we do.

I'm a huge Lavazza fan - just love the smoothness and richness of their coffee. I normally get the Lavazza Dek and use it for espresso making, but thought I'd give this a try since the price was so nice.

While I got the best results when using Gran Filtro as a pour over, French press or Aeropress, it held its own when I used it for espresso. Not as rich as the Dek, but still tasty. It was outstanding when I mixed it with Lavazza Super Crema, which is a caffeinated bean. A ratio of roughly 40% Super Crema to 60% Gran Filtro was very good; a mix of 40% Super Crema, 30% Gran Filtro and 30% Dek was even better.

While I'll continue to purchase Dek for espresso, I'll be buying this as well since it's less expensive and works very well.

Regardless of the Lavazza variety, however, remember this is a Northern Italian style coffee. You're not going to get blackened beans but rather a medium roast that allows the flavor to come through instead of a burned taste that masks poor quality beans. The beans are also not oily which again, is a good thing with regard to taste - you want the oil to remain IN the bean so it comes out as flavor rather than be driven to the outside by excessive roasting. Plus, non-oily beans will not clog up your grinder, which is especially important if you have a combination brewer/grinder.

Highly recommend if you're looking for a Northern Italian style coffee.

In case you thought--as I did--that all Italian coffee is a dark espresso roast, guess again! This coffee comes much closer to a medium-roast coffee and consists of remarkably tiny beans. They're kind of cute, but I prefer a deeper-roasted coffee. I'll be trying other brands next time around.

What can I say, I'm a coffee snob. I will only drink coffee that is truly and completely smooth and rich. I only brew my coffee in a Chemex and never, ever add sugar. Through trial and error it took me over two years and a lot of beans to discover Lavazza, but now besides the occasional cup of illy, Lavazza is all I drink. This coffee is creamy, never bitter and of course, water processed.

Terrific flavor, hard to believe it is decaf. It is rich and earthy. I will definitely buy this item again.

This decaffeinated coffee is very good tasting with no bad after taste. I brew it in a Jura machine which I believe it is taylored for. Also the I have used about 10 bags and the flavor seems to be consistent.
