I read that lavender oil repels some bugs like silverfish and I had noticed some in my house. I sprinkled the oil on the floor close to the wall and a little on the carpet and vacuumed. It smells good and I haven't seen any silverfish since then.

There is a difference between a lavender "perfume oil" (mostly synthetic) which smells much nicer than a pure essential oil. Pure oils are not synthetic, and are responsible for the healing properties of oils. Thay may be used in small quantities in perfumes, but usually synthetics are used because essential oil is very "volatile" (meaning it evaporates quickly). The purity of this oil is excellent and great for all uses requiring a pure essential oil. As a licensed aromatherapist (UK & NZ), I am quite happy with this oil-it is a great value for the price. Rene-Maurice Gattefosse (Author), Robert B. Tisserand (Editor) ~ a wonderful book that explains the "science" behind Aromatherapy & it's discovery by the chemist (1880's) Gattefosse.

I buy a lot of lavender scented items, including the essential oil. Not everyone smells the same, but this one is very nice...so nice that I have already purchased another one. Thanks!

I have searched around for a long time to find a good Lavender Essential Oil. This was a good find and I really enjoy it. I recommend this product and plan to purchase again.

I enjoy this particular lavender oil and have bought it before. I also like this company's herbal soap; it works great and smells wonderful. I would never hesitate to buy anything from this seller!

The more, the merrier. After first purchasing, the small 1/3 oz of this lavender oil, I decided to upgrade my buys to the 1 oz bottles. I can't seem to get enough of this oil. I keep a bottle at work, squeeze a few drops on a tissue paper, and it seems to freshen up my office and mood. One of my coworkers commented once at my desk that my area smells like an aroma therapy spa. I had to smile. Below is the original review that I wrote generally for Plantlife's lavender oil.

I love lavender oil, and when I used up my first bottle of it, I decided to check out the lavender oils available on Amazon. This Plantlife brand of oil smells great! It is calming, and like some of the other reviewers noted, it works well when added to a cotton ball next to your pillow to give you restful sleep. Below are some of the other uses for lavender that I use:

1. Homemade body sugar scrub: I use my favorite homemade sugar scrub recipe and add drops of lavender to the mix. It smells so delicious and feels great in the shower.

2. Body Mist: I add water, drops of lavender and orange oil (or any other essential oil) to an empty squirt bottle. I use it to freshen up a room and when at work and I'm staring at the computer screen, I spray a couple of squirts in the air as a refresher. It feels heavenly. It helps keep me alert (in particular after lunch when feeling groggy), and perks up my mood.

3. Homemade body oil: This is one of my favorite uses of lavender oil. I mix it with sweet almond oil (which is scentless), vitamin E oil, and orange essential oil to create the sweetest floral fruity body oil. I rub it all over my body after a shower, and it feels so therapeutic. It's a great start to a day or the best nightcap before bed.

I know there are hundreds of other uses for lavender oil (and I'm going to check them out). I am very pleased with this lavender oil and my uses of it. I give this oil my HIGHEST Recommendation. You'll love it!

I love this brand. I had badly burnt lips from sunburn and put this oil on my lips with their Herbal Lip Balm and within 3 days my lips had no more blisters. I've never experienced such quick healing. It soothed the pain too.

This is a wonderful product. I use it for both migraine relief and relaxation. I pour the oil under hot running water for a soak in the tub. Also this essential oil is great for the scent diffuser I have, the scent fills the room and really relaxes me and helps speed the migraine relief.
I will be ordering more of this in the future!!!!

I bought this product because of the excellent reviews. Perhaps I got a bad batch but mine smells like lavender stems steeped in water for a month or so, weedy and unpleasant. I use lavender products regularly and have several varieties of lavender growing in my garden and none of them smell this nasty!
