This workbook helps take the law of attraction to the next level, March 13, 2007
This review is from: Law of Attraction Workbook - A 6-Step Plan to Attract Money, Love, and Happiness (Paperback)
It's one thing to read about the law of attraction and how awesome it is, but it's another to fully understand it and then use it (or so I have found).
Months ago, I happened to come across David Hooper's other book about the law of attraction and gained a lot of understanding while reading it. When I came to Amazon to do a search on other books on the law of attraction, I was surprised to see he had also written a workbook.
Before I got the workbook, I was expecting it to be a small volume of basic exercises such as "list your goals" or "list what is stopping you". But when I receive it and then looked through it, I was pleasantly surprised to see there was so much more. Each chapter is devoted to every, specific area of your life that you would use the law of attraction for (relationships, career, health, etc). And each chapter has an introduction that really helps you to prepare for, and get focused on, the exercises ahead.
I appreciated the continued explanation of what the law of attraction is in which he includes between each exercise. I also appreciated the gratitude exercises which helped me remember to be thankful for what I have in the present rather than always be thinking about what I don't have and what I do want. I also liked that, at the end of each chapter, there was room given to write down reflections of what thoughts and feeling came up after doing the exercises.
Honestly, this is exactly the kind of workbook I needed to help me take the law of attraction from being just a new way of thinking to actually putting it in to use.

Quality Questions for a Quality Life, May 9, 2007
This review is from: Law of Attraction Workbook - A 6-Step Plan to Attract Money, Love, and Happiness (Paperback)
We have all heard the expression, the quality of our life is based on the quality of the questions we ask ourselves. Well, I have to say this book is full of really great thought provoking questions. When I first got it, I was like, not another workbook to fill in, but as I got into it I really saw the benfits of the questions. They really helped me think about how I was percieving my life, and how my perceptions have all along been shaping my life. Then it takes you through a precess of reframing to see how we can change our thoughts to create a different outcome. He walks you through the major stuff in life that we all complain about and feel powerless to change. Now I feel like I have a plan. If you are serious about making changes, get this workbook and do the work.
One of my favorite quotes from Einstein is, "Nothing changes until something moves" take action, get the book, do the questions, and you will have changes, I'm already seeing great results.

Contradicts "The Secret" DVD, September 18, 2007
This review is from: Law of Attraction Workbook - A 6-Step Plan to Attract Money, Love, and Happiness (Paperback)
After seeing the movie "The Secret" I thought it might be helpful to get a workbook to help me with the principles they teach regarding The Law of Attraction. However, the first thing I noticed upon opening this workbook is that the first 42 pages ask you to write down every NEGATIVE thing you can think of about your life! You are asked to fill in the blanks regarding what you worry about most, what you struggle with, what you are concerned about, with your life partner, with your family, about money, about your career, and on and on. When I watched The Secret, my first impression was that you should not even dwell on these things AT ALL. So it seems as right at the beginning this book violates the first principle -- CHANGE YOUR THOUGHTS! Then, once the book does get around to the part where your write how you would like your life to be, it specifically asks to you write down HOW YOU EXPECT TO ACCOMPLISH these changes! (i.e. "You need to move beyond listing the things you need to change and begin to focus on what you are going to do to attract each of the things . . .") This specifically contradicts another principle revealed in The Secret, which stated that you do not have to KNOW how it will come about, and you do not have to try to figure out yourself HOW IT WILL COME ABOUT! This appears to be one of those typical self-help books that have been published in the past, and it seems to have been just slightly adjusted to fit the principles of the Law of Attraction. Maybe this is a different "Law of Attraction" than they present in The Secret DVD? If you are looking for a book to help you with accomplishing the goals set by The Secret DVD, look elsewhere, this isn't it.
