This book was on my Suggested Reading list for law school so I picked it up. Now that I've read the book, I must say that this is NOT a good book to read over the summer before classes start. It is much more useful as a review. It is way too succinct to be a very valuable tool for learning Law and Economics. This book will really come in handy for finals week though!

I bought this back when I was in law school for a Law and Economics class. I have no idea what I was thinking in signing up for the class, as it has been more or less useless in the actual practice of law. That's actually not true. I took the class, as I was an Economics major in undergrad, and I thought the class would be easy. It was. The book might have been helpful if I didn't have an economics background, but I don't think that it breaks down the economic theories in the cases discussed in class any better than the classroom instruction. If you are just looking to buy this book on a whim for personal reading, then I would say go ahead, but if you are looking to supplement either a economics study or a legal study, then you can skip it, as it's just a mish mash of the two.

Really enjoyed this little book. Won't give you a deep understanding of the relationship between law and economics, but a decent high level overview.
