My review of Law Enforcement Counterintelligence,
By Patrick K Springer (Manchester, CT United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Law Enforcement Counterintelligence (Paperback)
As a retired Poice Officer and former CI Agent, I found the book to be informative but not really educational. It covered a lot of ground discussing the limited use of CI in law enforcement and the reasons, but didn't really assist in the educational process. A new CI officer needing some inside information on how to improve skill levels in this field would not gain much. An officer in a small department wanting to start a CI Unit might not find this book too helpful as far as operational hints go, but it would however, give the officer an insight into the objections and obstacles that he may face from his superiors . The book overall is well written and informative.

A pleasure to read. Holds your attention every second. The author mixed theory with real life experiences. He has a vast trajectory as a spook and knows what he talks. The book explains in detail intelligence operations by gangs, organized crime and drug cartels. Also include IntelOps by terrorists orgs. Although the book was published almost 5 years ago it is still one to keep on my desk.
