This review is from: Law and Order in Buffalo Bill's Country: Legal Culture and Community on the Great Plains, 1867-1910 (Law in the American West) (Paperback)
If you're looking for shoot-em-ups, this is not your book. If you're looking for a good account of the implementation of the legal system on the Great Plains, and particularly Nebraska, this is for you. Though repetitive at times, it is very thorough and examines all aspects of the legal process-lawmen, lawyers, courts, prisons, etc.
