4.0 out of 5 stars Crazy 8's after 20 years, September 15, 2004

This is a must for all Crazy 8's fans.
Having a great time listening to the different versions of the seven original tracks.
There are a few suprises on the CD like the secret track #25. Their appearance on Star Search. This version of Johnny Q was worth the CD.
Just saw the Crazy 8's in Seattle this Sept 2004. They still put on the best live show even after twenty.

4.0 out of 5 stars Why Not ALL the original tracks?, March 9, 2005
This review is from: Law and Order (Audio CD)
I've been a Crazy 8s fan since the 80s and I have a cassette of the original Law And Order. This is the 2nd time they have released this on CD without two of the original tracks "Jump Rock" and "You're OK, I'm OK". Does anybody know why they keep leaving off these tracks?

5.0 out of 5 stars Been a long time, August 30, 2006
This review is from: Law and Order (Audio CD)
I first heard the Crazy 8's on WLIR in New York while my wife and I were driving through Levittown. Shortly after we left New York and I never heard them again. They were gone but their music never left my mind. My wife and I always wondered who/where we could find the band. For more than 20 years, I tried to find the name of the band or the song (Johnny Q) that stuck in my head all those years. I remembered a few of the verses and searched a few online lyrics sites recently and BAM, I found the Crazy 8's AGAIN! Went online and ordered this CD. Absolutely fantastic!!! Always a Ska fan, now a formerly lost but now found Crazy 8's fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Crazy 8's ruled the crazy 80's (in Portland, anyway), July 6, 2010

Instead of giving a history of the band Crazy 8's (go to Wikipedia for that) I will just give some of my memories. This album was the first by the band. I had it on LP record in college at WWU (Bellingham, WA). It was never published on CD in it's original form so finding this on-line years later (20th Anniversary edition) was quite a treat. The album cover was even updated to include the presidents thru "W" Bush. As great as the songs on this album are, the 8's were even better live. I saw them probably at least a handful of times in Bellingham, Seattle, and Portland back in the day. They were best taken in at Key Largo in Portland, one of their regular haunts. Hope y'all enjoy it.

I had the tape, but needed the CD. This CD brings back good memories. Crazy 8s were a great show.

4.0 out of 5 stars Production Quality Issues, March 1, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Law and Order (Audio CD)
I love the Crazy 8's and was excited to see this CD available. Just two weeks ago I had purchassed this album in vinyl on e-bay to have recorded to CD then I found this 20-year re-release.

I would give it a five star, except for the weird production quality of the CD. Mine has 25 tracks, not 13. The first 13 ar as listed on the Amazon page. Then track 14 through 24 are each six secods of silence followed by Track 25 which is a live version of Don't You Really Wanna Know. I like having the extra track, but the eleven extra blank tracks are kind of annoying.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Crazy 8's EVER - You MUST Own This CD!, November 5, 2004
This review is from: Law and Order (Audio CD)
I've been a fan of the Crazy 8's from their beginnings in the early 1980s when I was a college student in Oregon. I just received this album in the mail at home - I'm on my lunch - and I just can't go back to work. Now I'm an hour late; this music is like an amazing drug!

If you like Fishbone, Oingo Boingo, or just incredible, jazz/reggae/R&B inspired wonderful music, THIS IS IT. Buy it. Listen to it. Share it with you friends. You will LOVE it.

This CD is primarily a compilation and re-release of their earliest stuff, but when it's all on one CD, it's so fantastic that it perhaps should be illegal. If I could give this CD a SIX star rating, I would.
