"Law & Order" stars Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni in 22 Season 8 episodes heavy on drama. The scripts deal with sex crimes, their perpetrators and victims with often frank language and disturbing, emotionally provocative scenarios. Guest stars in the eighth season include Marcia Gay Harden, Tim Daly, Blair Underwood, Bernadette Peters, Kim Delaney, and Kal Penn.

Ever since I first saw this show, it has been my all-time favorite. I've watched the DVDs several times and never tire of them. The plots usually take several different directions and that always keeps my interest. There is no other show that I've seen where I like all the characters so much. Any one of the SVU DVD sets is absolutely worth the money.

Season 8 of Law & Order SVU is a great addition to any crime drama junkies' collection. The action and drama of the episodes combined with the chemistry of the detectives of the special victims unit make for great entertainment! This season includes interesting twists on crimes, special guest stars, legal maneuvering, and forensic work, both technical and biological. I'm eagerly awaiting the release of newly televised episodes onto DVD.

this season is a lot about family and how important it is... this season gets more in touch with the characters and tries to introduce a few new ones... some will stay others will go. But for some young kids there is quite a few episodes that they need to see... everyone knows that drunk drivers are out there and that teenagers drink but hardly anyone shows any new footage... and one of the episodes really puts all that into perspective.

I was a little dissapointed with the last few episodes from the 7th year and thought maybe the show was starting to go downhill...but when I got the 8th year I learned that that was NOT true!! Im only on the 3rd disk but the 8th year episodes are kicking some serious @$$!!!!!
TOTALLY WORTH WATCHING!!!

I have been following Law and Order SVU for only about a year or two since I started picking up reruns on USA Channel. I believed for a long time that I had seen just about every episode there was until I started collecting them on DVD. It's actually a shame that the discs are not available on bluray because although it's not a show heavy on Special FX, all GOOD TV shows are worthwhile on bluray. Anyway, this season of SVU does not miss a beat compared to the seasons before and, this is a feat in itself since it almost stands to reason that any show after 8 seasons starts to wane in maintaining interesting story lines, begin to fail to attract heavy-weight guest stars, and, most importantly, most shows inevitably lose their fan base after so many episodes. None of this is true with SVU. As I am not an "original" fan, I don't know if their fan base has actualled dwindled or if they simply have just picked up new fans along the way, but if the guest-star-spot appeal is any indication, this season of SVU is only growing stronger. With guest stars like Cary Elwes, Michael Michelle, Blair Underwood, Tim Daly, Bernadette Peters, Kim Delaney, and Kal Penn, among others, as well as returning faves Mary Stuart Masterson and Marcia Gay Harden, the show seems to still pull out all the spots on mass appeal, including these hot stars. For this reason, SVU has become, in such a short period of time, one of my absolute favorites. It is no wonder that I have bought every single season from 2 - 8, so far. I just ordered season 9 so my collection is only short seasons 1 and 10, which of course I will get eventually. I watch episodes over and over again and they are always entertaining, disturbingly so, but entertaining, and riveting and enthralling. One of my favorite episodes in season 8 is the last episode, SCREWED, where, another returning hot guest star, Ludacris, almost literally screws the entire SVU family. Nail-biting, edge-of-your seat, must-see TV.

I've gotten several sets of Law and Order SVU DVD's where the labels were worn off for the most part. This set was no exception. I'm getting tired of this. The quality of the DVD itself as far as how it plays is fine but who wants a gross label on something you pay good money for.

Law and order SVU is one of the best series on TV. This is the best out of the whole franchise.

I have followed this show from the beginning and have only praise for it. The quality of the DVDs is another story. I had stopped buying seasons because everyone arrived with labels that looked as if they had been scraped with sand paper. I only relented and bought seasons 8 and 9 when they went on sale. Full price for product quality of this mediocre level is a rip off.

Two of the best things in the world, Law & Order SVU and Elle Fanning, together at last. Except not at last, except for me that is. The fact is that this episode dates back all the way to 2006, which predates my obsession with both the show and the wonderful Ms. Fanning. What was i even doing in 2006? Not watching SVU yet thats for sure. That was a few years off still and i had never even heard of Elle Fanning at that point. Lord, how deprived was i back then! Fortunately i got with the program and am now a seasoned SVu fan and i can safely say that this is one of the best episodes i have ever seen. Seriously this ranks up there with the Chevy Chase as Mel Gibson episode or the one where Benson gets stabbed in the neck or the one where Amanda Seyfried is a con artist or the one where Benson accidentally gets high off inhaling mushroom spores (ok i haven't actually seen this one but i've heard good things). So whats so great about it? Well i don't know if this can really count as a spoiler since this episode is over four years old but the ending is amazing, specifically the scene where Elle's character Eden lights a couch on fire. If there's one thing we need more of in this world it's Elle Fanning lighting things on fire. I could pretty much die happy at this point. Of course there's plenty more to love besides just that, lots of compelling storytelling and drama and lots of action. Ice-T is great in this one too as is everyone else. If you are a fan of the show at all you should check this out it's definitely vintage SVU. Enjoy!
