This review is from: The Law of the Sea (Paperback)
I am a graduate student in Marine Affairs. I recently reviewed most of the notable texts on the topic of international ocean law.
Althought there are several good texts, most suffer from being dated (anything before 1994, for example, will not include analysis of the entry into force of UNCLOS-III). This text, in its third edition, 1999, covers the topic exhaustively. I found Churchill & Lowe's discussion of all aspects of international ocean law to be superior in both content and depth. I recommed this work without reservation.

The Law of the Sea
The purpose of my purhcase of the book is to acquire the basic principles of the law relating to the sea and ocean. The book contains the basics with concise explanations and discussions. It proves a useful starting point for a student or practioner in pursuit of the knowledge of the subject. In short, it is a very good reference even for a layman. |
