3.0 out of 5 stars Small booklet
This tiny, 34 page, booklet was certainly not worth the price. I wouldn't have bought it if the ad had made it clear it is not a book. Not saying the information in the booklet isn't good - but far better to get it and much more by reading Autobiography of a Yogi by the same author!

5.0 out of 5 stars A treasure of wisdom, September 24, 2001

I know this booklet for 25 years and it has guided me through most of my life. It is basically a compendium of the wisdom necessary to succeed in life. Yet it is not about the success based on careers and possessions, but in the ability to live in harmony with the laws of the universe, promulgated by a Superior Intelligence. Yogananda, a really enlightened spiritual mentor, kwnown even before that "self-help" was a commercial product, offers in twelve brilliant short essays all you need to know to attain happiness, prosperity and fulfillment in this generation, in these times. A real treasure, a formidable source of advise and comfort.

If all the positive thinking self help books and books on success were to be condensed into one, it would probably be this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Success through positive thinking and affirmation, March 29, 2000
By A Customer
I bought this book a year ago for myself and another copy for my loving mother. I have been using the affirmation and inspirational content ever since. Guruji's words are consice on the content of right thinking for creating our dreams come true. In this hardcover edition he talks to us in an inspiring manner about all that we may need to create success in our lives. However, this book is not only about success in the material world, but success in what every yogi holds as his mission and true calling, Self-Realization, a Reunion with God. Aum, Bless Thee

5.0 out of 5 stars Head and shoulders above 'positive thinking' books, November 9, 2002
Both the little pocket-size paperback edition and the gorgeous hardback version of this classic have potent places for your spiritual and material life. Yogananda's words ring with the Truth of one who has tested the principles he presents - unlike countless self-promoting think-and-grow-rich authors whose only wealth comes from convincing others that they can become successful while staying lazy. Yogananda validates the classic approach: to be calmly active and actively calm. I keep a copy of conveniently pocketable paperback in almost every jacket's pocket to keep myself on-target in moments of doubt or lethargy. I offer the beautiful hardback as a gift to friends who might not yet know how yoga's simple truths can be transcendently beautiful.

In this little volume you will find... not pie-in-the sky schemes, but carefully orchestrated interweaving of spiritual attunement and practical-minded success in world endeavors. The result is beauty in all activities - underlying godliness in apparently worldly activity.

A most refreshing approach: please share it !

5.0 out of 5 stars Divine Spiritual Truth. A MUST Read!, March 2, 2004

Paramahansa Yogananda brings humanity a treasure of wisdom sharing exactly how to align yourself with the essence you hold within, that of God, Divine Source, who IS at all times working with you, in you, and as you.
Yogananda's work has had a tremendous influence on my life, and this book will remind you that you do have the capacity to co-create anything your heart desires, and your heart is the ticket to manifesting, and trusting that what you desire you do deserve to receive. I cannot recommend this book enough if you want to shed all false and fearful layers of ego, as you were not born with them, and to connect to the joy that you can create at any moment, once your focus is in alignment with God, who is ALWAYS with you. It is important to remember that your life calling is what you hold with the deepest joy and passion in your life. This book will help you remember. Highly recommended from my heart,

5.0 out of 5 stars This Is Really all You Need to be Successful, April 30, 2000
This is Yoganda's discourse on success. It is really quite simple. There are three areas that we have to deal with as Yogananda explains. First is the subconscious which has to be bombarded with "positive ions" and affirmations. As well as the right kind of positive thinking. See "Scientific Healing Affirmations" on this theory. If you are financially troubled, do the "prosperity affirmation" in that book. I haven't been homeless in 3 years! And while homeless, I chanted that 50-word affirmation about 500 times in all conditions and in all weather. It's hard to practice yoga when you are broke. And I am still living out my nightmares psychologically. But let's get back to the book. The second phase is dealing with the "concious mind". Here is where Yogananda stresses that YOU have to make somekind of concious effort. Finally, deep prayer to God in order to receive aid. I would like to add a couple points. It is very popular today to "Find Your True Vocation". Half-truth. Yogananda stresses in his lessons that you life's vocation really begins to develop between the ages of 3 and 12. He advises a two-pronged approach. Do some of which you really love, BUT KEEP WORKING AT THE JOB YOU HATE AND EVEN TRY TO DEVLOP SOME INTEREST IN IT. Do both! And one last point. If you love being a trash collector, then do it. Yogananda's view of success has been modified greatly in the last few decades. $$$ and ***. Do what you love but eventually try to love whatever you are doing! Good luck.

5.0 out of 5 stars A thorough presentation of the prerequisites to success, November 18, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Law of Success: Using the Power of Spirit to Create Health, Prosperity, and Happiness (Paperback)
In a style that is concisely deductive, the author presents, in this short booklet, the meaning of success, the methods for its achievement, and the principles underlying those methods.

The booklet conveys with clarity, methods that an individual can immediately put into practice. All that is needed is a few minutes of perusal rather than hours of wading through several hundred pages. Among other things, booklet treats positive thinking, introspection, self control, and above all, harmony with the Divine plan.

In an age when men want to succeed, not only materially and mentally, but also spiritually, the methods presented in this book are apt.

A common man doesn't have the faintest idea of his potential. Mainly because we don't know who we are. That infinite knowledge, potential and wisdom lies right within us. Is what Sir. Yogananda is trying to tell us. He is showing us the way to unleash this power. Einstein did, Gandhi did, Martin Luther King did, Newton did and so did many others. The Apple used to fall from the tree even before Newton said it. Where did they pull it all out of? From within their deep inner self. So can you. There is much more to achieving success than the zillions of management books lying in every trash. So here it is just a pointer from a realized master. A fantastic book. Doesnt have to be a 5000 page book. Enjoy....

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Advice Guide, October 18, 2004
I got this little book as a gift from a former student. I treasure this book.It resonates with the wisdom of a Master Soul. I have given a copy to each of my daughters because I think Yogananda sums up what we should seek in this life.
If you are searching for your life purpose start with this little book. Read it regularly. Let its wisdom sink deep into your consciousness. You will become a better person if you thoughfully read it.
