I had to use this book for a 100 level medical law class im taking at a community college. i took the class online and had to use this book. i was scared... to hear the word "law" is pretty scary to me. when i first got this book, it was so easy to read, i blew through like 3 chapters in one night. this book is GREAT! id recommmend it to anyone who wants to know basic medical law information, such as HIPAA, living will, power of attorney and licence reciprocity.

This book makes learning fairly easy with helpful cases to relate to the information. Each chapter has approximately 7 cases to make the content relatable. The cases also include titles that make it easy to know which term they relate to. One thing that makes it more difficult to get through the material is that they list far too many examples for the topics. For example, when they go through why a physician needs to be caring they list 12 to 15 examples instead of 1 or 2. It's almost like beating a dead horse.

I purchased this textbook for a Medical Law & Ethics class which I was taking in college. I really enjoyed this book, it was set up in a way which made it very easy to obtain the important information. It also had court cases as examples too which helped to clarify some things. One of the best textbooks I've used!

I used this book for a medical law and ethics course in college and it's so detailed and interesting. I kept it to refer to and read for other courses and I definitely recommend it if you need a book that has anything to do with its subject matter. The editions are not really specific. There is a chapter on current healthcare data, but if you get an older edition you definitely aren't missing anything you could easily Google. This is great, if you are on the fence about buying it, do it!

This book engages the reader, and has review material that challenges your recall memory of the material. I picked up the book to learn a little bit of an intro into medical ethics, and it has been a great read. The book is littered with real life case studies that hammer home the topics covered. Would recommend for anyone looking for a book over medical ethics or any other future premeds out there

The longest and most complicated chapter in the book with good reason. Indispensable as a reference or resource material, especially for the new medical assistant or someone continuing their education in the field of healthcare.

More About the Author

I wrote my first book when I was in second grade, titled, "The Adventures of Drancy New." Obviously, it lacked originality. Since then, I taught school--college biology, high school sciences, and grades one and three--then published 15 books and 500 magazine articles. I'm an animal lover with a fifteen-pound cat named Boog, and I live in deep timber some twenty miles from Mount Rushmore. Nonfiction has been good to me and I love writing it, but I'm also working on a young adult mystery series.
