5.0 out of 5 stars I'm Starting My Own Lawn Care Business Because of this Book

I have searched every corner of my brain trying to think of the perfect business to get myself into as I wanted to work for myself. When I found this book, I found my answer.

What they've said is true, "Find something you enjoy doing and you'll never have to work a day in your life". For me it's lawn care, landscaping and all the other aspects...

3.0 out of 5 stars Covers a lot but not in depth
This book covers almost everything that you would need to know to start a lawn care business. It includes some great ideas for promoting your business. It does not however cover each topic in detail to be very useful. Example: the section on sprinkler systems was half a page basically saying you can learn to do irrigation or partner with someone who does. I would have...

I have searched every corner of my brain trying to think of the perfect business to get myself into as I wanted to work for myself. When I found this book, I found my answer.

What they've said is true, "Find something you enjoy doing and you'll never have to work a day in your life". For me it's lawn care, landscaping and all the other aspects of beautifying homes and their surroundings.

Being able to make a living out of an activity I enjoy doing is really the icing on the cake. The author, Patrick Cash, wonderfully shares a step-by-step guide to make all this come true. I don't have to hire a consultant to draw me a process map to get my own lawn care business off the ground because this book has it all, in a short, sweet and simple format.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific Business Guide for Landscaping Business, January 16, 2012
If you need to take a landscaping hobby to the next level and make it your sole source of income, you will find this book very helpful. The chapters within cover everything from licensing to advertisement and the services that you can promote or specialize in. I have never started a business so the legal and tax information that is covered in the early chapters was especially helpful. I had a side business with a few clients but taking any business to the next level (mine did not even have a name) requires much more and I found what I needed here. You will not find a landscaping course or a landscaping design course inside these pages but if you are hoping to go into business caring for lawns, all the information that you need is included.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good resource, March 17, 2010

I was very pleased with the information I got from this book. Pat obviously knows what he is talking about especially regarding the business end of operating a lawn care company. He has many wise suggestions for running your business successfully. If I had a complaint I guess I would have liked to have had more information in the book about the nuts and bolts of lawn care, but I guess thats another book entirely. Overall this book is a very helpful resource.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy Start-up, January 17, 2012
My son, a college graduate, has been looking unsuccessfully for work. As a teenager he always mowed lawns and he is very good at fixing and maintaining mowers, edgers and other equipment so he has not had to spend much money on the equipment end of this business. He has had two elderly neighbors that pay him weekly to do their lawns and he has decided to try to make more money doing laws. He got a lot of information regarding what to charge, what other services to provide, how to advertise cheaply, how to get bonded, when to hire help, etc out of this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars The most extensive book on starting a lawn care company, January 16, 2012
By
Reggie Brown (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This is a great book for anyone in the lawn care business. I have worked for a large lawn care company for the last seven years and and it has been more of an annoyance than everything. There are always problems within a company when it gets to be that large and there were a lot of things I saw they could improve on but were not willing to spend the money. All they worried about was the bottom line not about the customer.

I always thought it would be extremely expensive and difficult to get started with my own lawn care service. This book gives a ton of advice on what needs to be done to get started as well as continuing being successful. This book even gives advice on hiring and training. This is the most extensive book I have ever found that covers starting and running a lawn care business. Now I am able to focus on the customer and make sure they are getting exactly what I promised them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lawn Care Bible, January 15, 2011
As the owner of a small landscaping business, I'm ready to take my company to the next level. A friend told me about this book so I purchased it, knowing I would need some extra lessons in how to market my business and obtain more contracts. This book is now my bible. I especially appreciated the chapters on how to move from residential to commercial customers and how to have other sources of income in the winter. This book is an excellent resource for new entrepreneurs as well as owners who have been doing it a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars Priceless Information!, January 14, 2011
I purchased this book for my college age son who expressed an interest in starting his own lawn care business. We weren't quite sure where to start but I knew he had the drive to succeed and he just needed a guide/mentor to follow. Patrick Cash's Lawn Care Business Guide was a profitable tool for him. This book contains all of the business details that a new entrepreneur may not have knowledge of. The most valuable chapters were on marketing your business and the template forms for proposals, contracts and sales letters.
