I have never really been familiar with Robert Folk and his work until I heard Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. I happened to find this in a used CD shop one day and thought if I should get this. I did and listened to it and I was blown away. This is one awesome soundtrack. Performed by the outstanding London Sinfonia Orchestra, this is a soundtrack with power and sheer force. It is large in scale with a large symphony orchestra and a few synths here and there. The theme is an 8 note brass motif that is heroic and uplifting and is found in "The City" and "Finale" mostly, but also occurs in several of the other tracks in various places. The first 4 tracks are simply dynamite with triumphant brass fanfares and soaring strings. A big highlight in this soundtrack is the action music in which there is a lot of. Most definite in "The Train", "The Alarm", "Jobe's War", "Virtual Reality Battleground" and others, the music contains difficult triplet patterns for brass and strings, with pounding percussion, especially the snare drum. The theme closes with a big orchestral moment in "Finale" to finish off the soundtrack. This soundtrack is hard to find, but if you find it, by all means get it because it is really excellent.
