Lawrence Welk's Favorite Holidays takes you through the year, and through the years, looking back at the very best of the fun-filled television programs marking the special days celebrated by American families. Longtime Welk stars NORMA ZIMMER, JANET LENNON, JO ANN CASTLE, MARY LOU METZGER, BOBBY BURGESS, and KEN DELO host this new special, recalling favorite holiday memories and personal stories. This 80-minute program includes rare performances such as JO ANN CASTLE and MYRON FLOREN playing "Lover" on twin accordions for Valentine's Day; and "The Anniversary Song" sung by the LENNON SISTERS with their father in 1960 celebrating Father's Day. KEN DELO sings "Sunrise Sunset," videotaped during a live performance at the Champagne Theatre in Branson and for Mother's Day, JO ANN CASTLE remembers her daughter, Deana, and dedicates "Lara's Theme" to her memory. This special features new performances on a beautifully decorated, home-like set, specially designed for this program. Also included are upbeat patriotic medleys celebrating the 4th of July and Veterans Day, a hilarious look at some over-the-top Halloween numbers, and a special tribute to one of the Musical Family's legendary talents, LARRY HOOPER, who sings "Oh Happy Day," "Minnie the Mermaid," "Ain't She Sweet," and other favorites. Champaign lady NORMA ZIMMER sings "The Lord's Prayer" to celebrate Easter and "Bless This House," the traditional Thanksgiving Hymn. The program begins and ends with New Year's celebrations from "There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays" which gets things going, to "Auld Lang Syne," as the cast enjoys a New Year's Eve party complete with champagne, balloons, noisemakers, and the big band sound of the great Lawrence Welk Orchestra.
