Lawry's seasoned salt is the greatest spice mix ever. When I was in Iraq, we would beg our families to include Lowry's in the care packages they sent us. Lowry's made MRE's bearable, and even improved the food in the chow hall. That may not seem like much, reading it on Amazon, but in Iraq, Lowry's was a lifesaver.

Pros:

* Makes all Army food bearable, so I'm pretty sure it has supernatural powers.

* A little Lowry's goes a long way, so a 16 ounce container will give you plenty of use.

* The container is made from sturdy plastic, and the lid screws on tightly. This is especially useful when you are carrying the container in your pack or pocket on a mission...I assume the same qualities would be good for hiking, camping or taking on picnics.

Cons:

*None.

Lawry's makes an excellent brand of seasoned salt. This type of salt can be used instead of regular salt; but it really spices up your meal nicely when you use it for cooking as I do. It keeps forever in the plastic container, too.

One warning: this type of salt contains sugar. If this is an issue for you, discuss it with your doctor before using this brand of salt. On the bright side, this product contains no M.S.G. and there is a mailing address in case you wish to contact the manufacturer for any reason.

Overall, Lawry's makes excellent seasoned salt. I recommend it highly.

The herbs and spices in LAWRY'S SEASONED SALT perk up and enhance the flavor and taste of a wide variety of foods, but this, ladies and gentlmen, THIS is what this seasoned salt was made for:

*1.5 lbs. lean ground beef
*half an onion, sliced and diced
*2 eggs
*dash of milk (2% fat recommended)
*4 table spoons Worcestershire Sauce
*2 table spoons Barbeque Sauce
*1/2 table spoon white vinegar
*pinch of garlic salt
*season with ground pepper
*add sprinkling of Quaker Oats

*stir/mix thoroughly; place in cooking pan

*cover top of meatloaf with a layer of Heinz Ketchup
*sprinkle liberally with LAWRY'S SEASONED SALT

*bake at 385 degrees F for 50-55 minutes

*Enjoy

It's the best meatloaf on the planet, hands down, and it's ultimate flavor is made possible by LAWRY'S SEASONED SALT. Wow. I'm hungry!

" First... I rarely PAN a product, but once in awhile a manufactured does something so dumb, one has to protest. Lawry's changed their recipe, now the scent of garlic, practically knocks one down when the bottle is opened. It 's NOT the same Lawry's seasoning. It also smells of curry (never a curry scent in original Lawry's, and may have black pepper--( I am allergic to black pepper, and not crazy about the pepper craze) -- over-seasoning w/ pepper just numbs taste buds. I would bet this new flavor is the result of involving someone who uses hot sauce, and garlic on everything.

I called them. They denied it, but I read another complaint from a guy who agreed... this wasn't the same Lawry's. He said they took out the sugar, and had more garlic...so, I am not the only one who has noticed.

I loved the old, original blend... why change a winner? It was my go-to spice, (have many allergies- this was my safe spice). I used Lawry's almost every day for over 30 years...Now, not so much. Really miss the original Lawry's... it was sweet- tomato-ey, with light hints of celery, delicate and very tasty. The new stuff practically shouts... and has a tinny-taste.

Lawry's has expanded their line... are making sauces, etc... too bad they ruined a staple. Lawry's you have to bring back the ORIGINAL Lawry's Seasoned Salt. Lawry's fans are beggin' ya."

OK, first I let me say that I received a small sample size bottle of this from a Bzz Campaign Kit, but our family has been using Lawry's seasoned salt for years and with good reason - it's the best! My husband absolutely will not grill anything without it, and I use it in all kinds of recipes from soups to chicken and everything in between. It just has an awesome flavor, there is nothing else on the market that tastes anything like it. If you've never tried Lawry's seasoned salt, run right out to the store and get some, NOW! You will not regret it. (although you may develop an addiction to it!)

If you think about the diet consumed by most people through most of history, the food was probably, by our standards, very bland. There were no refrigerators and no fast food, and there wasn't much refined sugar around. So how did people eat this bland and sometimes even rotting food? They doused it in salt and seasonings. And once you start putting salt, like this seasoned salt, on your bland food, you get used to it. I've found that during my diet, I can keep to my goals as long as I have some Lowry's handy. For instance, tonight I had a dinner of peas, potatoes and a little cottage cheese. That doesn't sound very appetizing, but once it's covered in Lowry's seasoned salt, it's actually palatable. Of course, there are some who believe the best way to diet is to eat food with no seasonings and as little flavor as possible, or what is known as the low-palatability diet. While there is some truth to that idea, and though I've been successful at losing weight on that diet, I don't take the hard line position that no seasoning is permissible. In fact, I think a lot of seasoning on bland food is the way to go if you can't take an entirely bland diet. So, to wrap it all up, Lowry's is a great way to make bland food taste OK. If that's what you want.
