Anecdotes & Antidotes,
By Wm. Mark Simmons (Hutchinson, Kansas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: In-Laws, Outlaws, Friends, and Foes: A Southern Collection (Paperback)
Reminiscences, short-short stories, and reminders of how our lives are connected to and defined by so many others. Antidotes for the blues, heart-warming memories, and laugh-out-loud tales for all occasions. Despite the southern flavor and lore, this collection is universal in its wisdom and appeal. Everyone has their favorite but "Drunk And Disorderly" has been mine ever since I first heard it on the radio. Pam's account of her dog's ill conceived pub crawl, complete with a late night phone call from the police, is still a hoot! The book is actually 159 pages, despite the listing above, but it's still small enough to fit in a Christmas stocking or gift basket. A great present for any occasion!
