Book Description

August 2004
With more than a million lawyers and 70,000 lawsuits filed every day, the U.S. civil justice system has been corrupted into a gigantic get-rich-quick lottery! The new national pastime is played 20 million times a year by a growing army of self-styled "victims" and their increasingly powerful and predatory attorneys.

"The Lawsuit Lottery" is a social commentary that attempts to shed light on the hijacking of Justice in America by the world's costliest tort system. In so doing, the book exposes the devastating harm being inflicted by a broken legal system on the nation's economy, the character and freedom of its citizens, and the legitimacy of the United States in the international community.

5.0 out of 5 stars AN INSIDE VIEW OF THE AMERICAN LEGAL SYSTEM, December 1, 2004

ASSET ATTORNEY (PHOENIX AZ - HOT!) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Lawsuit Lottery: The Hijacking of Justice in America (Paperback)
As an attorney with years of litigation experience, I can safely say that the Lodmell's have taken a long, honest and soul-searching looking at the American court system and how it has been corrupted by unscrupulous attorneys. As for the Lodmell's solutions, they are one of the country's leading asset proetction firms for a reason, their planning goes far beyong mere family limited partnerships, and they have literally thousands of clients who have benefitted from their expertise in this field. This is a fascinating read for the lay man and should be required ethics reading for every lawyer in America.

The Lodmell's have really hit the nail on the head here, SharkDiverK's review was way off base,he obviously does not have the oxygen mix right in his tanks, or perhaps he has not really read the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars More social commentary than law, January 6, 2005
This review is from: The Lawsuit Lottery: The Hijacking of Justice in America (Paperback)
I have to give this book a strong review in light of the other negative review. I am not a lawyer and while I have a FLP, RLT, APT I didn't take the book to be pushing product but commenting more on a society bent on profiting from lawsuits rather than punishing people financially for their wrongdoings. In a capitalist society money is so coveted and to what end? This book is a much deeper look at the profiteers than the authors trying to sell something. I say buy the book and form your own opinion. You know what they say about opinions and I would lump diver in with them.
