This album does not start well, but it gets better. On "Hearts Don't Bend", she tries to make her voice rock, and it doesn't quite work, although it might one day. And with lyrics like, "Put my heart in a jar to try to keep it safe", I'm taking a lot of convincing. "Not Who You Say" and "Lay It All Down" are better songs, but she still tries to get a little more from the voice than it will give.

On "I Can't Wait" she is much more convincing, and you can hear the absolute quality in her voice that will ensure a long recording career. The only negative on this song is the "na na na" vocal fills that make it sound like the producer ran out of ideas, or didn't have the nous to veto.

She wrote or co-wrote all the songs, another guarantee of longevity. She knows the craft, but she has not yet learned that the songs that sustain a career are the songs from the heart. But I'm pretty sure they're coming, and I can't wait. It's how she made me.

Great album. The lyrics and production are excellent. Katie has a great voice, full of emotion. The music is upbeat with a pop/country/alternative feel. Keep your eyes and ears open for her, she will be on the Billboard charts in short order. Album is highly recommended

Katie Cole is a terrific artist. We have caught her at the Hard Rock Cafe. We always enjoy her songwriting and singing very much. This is a solid, entertaining album, beautifully produced and engineered by Howard Willing. Don't miss it.
