A FRESH LOOK AT AN ANCIENT TRADITION,

This review is from: The Lay Contemplative: Testimonies, Perspectives, Resources (Paperback)
I have been waiting for some time for a book such as this - written for ordinary people who are drawn to contemplative prayer. The question is always, "Where can I learn more? Who can help me?" This book is a companion on the journey. Not only does it have a resourceful section on places available for contemplative learning and practice; the introductory articles are most informative. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking depth in their spirituality.

This review is from: The Lay Contemplative: Testimonies, Perspectives, Resources (Paperback)
The Association of Contemplative Sisters is a group of both nuns and laywomen, who know and care about spiritual life. Some of their members have carefully researched resources for those of us who share their desire for prayer and for companionship on the contemplative way. This book contains articles about various aspects of being a person of prayer outside any monastery. But the greatest contribution, I think, is the long section of information on a variety of organizations and places where one can make retreats, find information, or join with others who share the lay contemplative life.It is a readable, informative book. You will feel you know the writers personally! review by Janet Knori, author of Awakening in God |
