I primarily bought this CD just for Meredith's remake of Melanie's song "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)." Meredith does a good job of modernizing (if that's the right word?) this song, which is originally from ca 1969. I've been waiting for Meredith to put this song on a CD ever since I saw her perform it backstage at Lilith Fair, from the VH1 special a few years ago. So thank you Meredith! There are 3 songs on the CD: "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)" featuring Queen Latifah, the previously unreleased "Little Slice", which is actually written by Meredith Brooks, and "Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)" (edit). I'm generally not a big fan of Meredith's, but her song "Little Slice" is catchy. I'd suggest buying this CD (made in Germany) if you really like "Lay Down" and don't want to buy the Deconstruction album. Happy Halloween.
