"Lay It Down" is a very good movie and I would recomend it to anyone, no matter what genre of movies you like, I really think you'd like this movie. It got your adrenalin going, it brought hope, admiration and a little bit of anger at times. Get your tissue box ready, this movie will make you cry. Best of all, it delivers a message that all of us can benefit from these days.

This is the best Christian teen film made. It has great acting and moves so smoothly with no dull moments. It has characters that anyone can relate to. I wish they could make more like this.

We need more of these,

I show this to different youth groups every year and I always get a positive response. I speak weekly to youth groups and have shown lots of different videos (that don't get the same response) to promote Christian values and positive citizenship but this video tops the list.
If you're looking for secular-flashy/racing "Fast & the Furious" type of flicks then there are many out there. If you're looking for a movie that'll appeal to todays teens and still bring home the message of the Gospel then this a diamond in the rough. Hope this helps.

I'm surprised by the reviews here??? There is a reason it won best youth film 2002. I am into racing and still somewhat young and I thought it was the coolest Christian film I had ever seen.

I liked this movie. From what I've heard, a lot of people feel that it's a poor man's Fast and the Furious, but I think it held up in its own right. The story follows two brothers--one who has recently been saved, and one who is not. Both brothers used to be street racers, but after his conversion the Christian brother feels he should not race anymore. When he forgoes his faith to race just one more time, the story accelerates into a surprise ending. Definitely worth the price of a rental!

Sub-par at best,

The story starts out way slow. Acting is less than convincing. Car scenes could have easily been done better even on a low budget. The fact is that there are plenty of street-racers out there who would show up for free and give much better demonstrations. The choices of cars used, along with the predominantly white cast shows that very little research was done to provide a credible basis for the film.
The only reason it gets more than one star is because it accurately conveys the Gospel message. I recommend that if you show this in a Youth Group setting, you set it up as a comedy. Then it's actually quite funny.

Bought this movie based because it was advertised "best youth film," but I was too ashamed of it to let anybody else watch it. I thought it was terrible.
