This is a very enjoyable record by some serious musicians. The most obvious reference points (to me) were probably Ornette Coleman and Carlos Ward, but the compositions and the improvising point in all kinds of directions. The rhythm section is especially strong. I definitely recommend it to anyone interested in progressive contemporary jazz.
