About the Author

I began my career as a sheet metal journeyman, was a Navy Seabee, and found my way into teaching as a sheet metal apprentice instructor. Teaching came naturally for me and after working as a metal shop instructor at secondary and college level, I shifted into teacher training. I have led teacher training programs at the University of California Berkeley and Ohio State University, for the Roofers International Union and many others. When Chabot College opened I became the founding Dean of Vocational Education and developed the curriculum and designed the classroom and shop set-up for the new college. I was Dean for seven years and left to focus on my writing. I have always been interested in sharing what I have learned, and taking complex topics and making them easily understood. Writing articles for trade magazines evolved into writing books, and Amazon is still selling used copies of my first book, Atomic Energy in Industry. Since then I have written over 50 books. One of my textbooks, Sheet Metal, published by American Technical Publishers, has sold over 100,000 copies to date. I have also written books for McGraw Hill and Delmar. My work as an educational consultant includes writing all of the apprentice books for NTF (Sheet Metal Industry National Training Fund) and its successor ITI (Sheet Metal Industry International Training Institute). I continue to write apprentice books for the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers, and Allied Workers. My personal job satisfaction comes from developing training materials for educators and for the HVAC industry that are easy to understand and create on-the-job success. My motto has always been to be the best that I can be and in that process to help others excel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another good HVAC Sheet Metal Book!, December 1, 2010

This review is from: Layout for Duct Fittings (Indoor Environment Technician's Library) (Spiral-bound)
While I don't like this book as much as Richard's Budzik, "Today's 40 Most Frequently-Used Fittings," it is a very useful book on the subject.
