Book Description

March 12, 2001
This isn't the future. This isn't Earth. Your species doesn't even exist here. Nothing you think you know about the universe matters now... This is LAZER and it's a whole new adventure.

LAZER is based in the Praema galaxy where magic and high technology have converged and are equally wielded by the species that live there. Players decide between these species and develop their characters by choosing skills and equipment. THEN THE ACTION BEGINS.

LAZER is a role-playing game of high-speed adventure and endless exploration of an ever-changing galaxy filled with deadly planets and even deadlier creatures.

Prepare yourself and don't be timid because here, as in any world, only the strong and the skilled survive.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

LAZER is a science-fiction based fantasy role-playing game of my own creation. One way that it differs from other games out there is that it isn't set in the future or the past relative to human history, because in LAZER there is no human history. Humans don't exist, Earth doesn't exist, Earth's lifeforms don't exist; none of it.

The entire galaxy is completely fictitious as are the species, craft, creatures, etc. LAZER is a game where technology and magic are equally common and usually mixed, and any character can master one or both. In this galaxy technology has created things like force fields, anti-gravity, living armor that heals itself and living craft that get tougher and more competent with every engagement. Computers and androids are often sentient beings and some just might try to kill you.

The lifeforms you will encounter might be from Tamara, Psych, Drom or any of the other known core planets. Any gaming scenario is possible in LAZER... your character might begin on some backwater moon where his or her knife is the most high-tech weapon around, or they might be involved in an interplanetary war commanding starships that can lay waste to entire continents.

Shadi, Sabratha, Cha-Kief, Vaji and scores of other nasty creatures are ready and able to make your character's lives a living hell. In addition to the lifeforms, robots, androids, magic spells, magic items and crafts will also undoubtedly become problems (or solutions) to your players.

I've been playing role-playing games since I was ten years old and I've found them to be of great benefit and I really enjoy myself when I'm playing, as I'm sure you do as well. Let me invite you to sit back, open your mind as wide as you can, and enjoy the ride. Welcome to LAZER... Welcome to my little world...

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome story and play action, July 31, 2001
By

This review is from: Lazer General Rules and Species (Paperback)
I have been involved in desktop games for almost 10 years. Marc's game goes way over the top with an awesome story, game play, and incredible graphics. The book is very organized and the rules are easy follow, but also allow for a very complex game.

I have to say another paragraph about the graphics. I have seen so many books that have had horrible illustrations. I bet soon you will find some of these art pieces in a local museum display.

The game is a pleasure to play and I am looking forward to more of my friends not borrowing my LAZER rules book all of the time.

Thanks for an awesome game Marc,

Taylor Davis
