The Lazy Person's Guide to Fitness,

This review is from: The Lazy Person's Guide to Fitness (Hardcover)
I'm a lazy person -- I admit it. But I still want to be healthy and fit. I'm not looking for excuses to let me give up and quit trying. Instead, I want someone to help me push past my own resistance to get moving toward fitness. I know I need it; and I really want it, but I just don't know how to go about getting there from where I am.
This book gave me the answers. To begin with, Charles Swencionis gave me permission to take "baby steps" instead of plowing full-speed-ahead, going from a dead stop (where exercise is concerned) to a fitness "junkie" overnight. I really appreciated his gradual approach to fitness, allowing Phys Ed rejects, like me, to get going. And the beautiful thing is: it really works! After I'd had my last baby, I couldn't even ride my old bike for a whole block! (I'm talking, less than a quarter of a mile.) But, gradually, by taking baby steps, I've actually gotten to the point where I look forward to exercising, and I even miss it when circumstances get in the way of doing it regularly. I recommend this book to anyone who's looking for a way to begin, or begin again, to get into shape. I highly recommend it!
