5.0 out of 5 stars This book is about changing your life for the better.
Don't let the title fool you. If you want a good positive change in your life, I highly recommend reading this book. I bought this book about 2 years ago, and I still love to read it.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK for an abridged version
This Penguin Publishing Edition is OK for a fast read but it lacks the entire workbook section and most of the meat of the newer edition by Karbo's Company (F P Publishing)ISBN #1884337228. I use the newer version with my business clients and they love it, and so do I.
Buy the newer version - it is so much better!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Got Better!, December 11, 1999
This review is from: The Lazy Mans Way to Riches How to Have Everything in the World You Really Want - 1995 publication. (Paperback)
Richard G. Nixon has taken Joe Karbo's classic to the next level! Joe's book made me believe I could create the lifestyle I really wanted, showed me how to do it, and it worked!

Richard has updated and augmented that work and made it even better. Thank You, Richard!

5.0 out of 5 stars Clearest book on simple goal setting I have ever read., October 15, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Lazy Mans Way to Riches How to Have Everything in the World You Really Want - 1995 publication. (Paperback)
I read the original book by Joseph Karbo in the 1980's. In 1998, it is still the clearest book on simple goal setting I have ever read.

I read this book back in 1974 and reread it many, many times. The previous review of the man from Canada is totally correct. Joe's grasp of "wanting everything.." and the raw power of the human mind are right on the mark. I'd like to know more about this man.

3.0 out of 5 stars If you are into "The Secret"... This is for you!, October 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Lazy Mans Way to Riches How to Have Everything in the World You Really Want - 1995 publication. (Paperback)
Here's a great mix of "The Secret" and "A Beginners Guide to Direct Marketing." If you're into "The Secret", you really should pick this one up. It really is suprising how the same mental ideas get rehashed repeatedly: Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich" to "The Secret". The names change but the beliefs are the same.

Karbo's writing is fantastic and this book is very easy to read. This book comes in two parts. First you have the beliefs/ psychology section, next is how to build a marketing empire from idea to product; ad assembly to media advertising. (The media part could stand an update)

After reading this, I would have rather passed. Interesting to compare his ad and the history of this book, that Joe made so much money from this product and from his simple return guarantee. I probably would have returned it in 1973. However studying the entire product, including its marketing and history is good preparation for creating/promoting your own products.

2.0 out of 5 stars Outdated, August 2, 2008
This review is from: The Lazy Mans Way to Riches How to Have Everything in the World You Really Want - 1995 publication. (Paperback)
This is an outdated version of the book and I believe a newer version exists; thus I highly recommend bypassing this one.

Nixon provides plenty of good quality tidbits of information including an outstanding explanation of purpose versus goals using Terry Fox as the centerpiece of his explanation as well as numerous inspirational quotations. However, some of this book deals with ideas that predate the internet age and will be useless.

This book would be worthwhile glancing through to pick up a few morsels of positive information; but otherwise I do not recommend undertaking this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't let the dream-stealers fool you about this book!, March 27, 1999

I've read both the original work and the new Richard Nixon copy over and over. Nixon only makes the formula more applicable and modern. It's not the only formula for success and in does'nt claim to be, but it is proven to work very well for thoughs who will honestly follow it.
