4.0 out of 5 stars The Requiem of a Prodigy
Overall my opinion is that the cd is good. I do think that if you are a huge sublime fan and you worship anything that has to do with sublime, you should definitely add this to your collection unless you hate jazz with a passion. To people who wasn't expecting a jazz cd--LOOK AT WHAT YOU'RE BUYING! I mean it says the Lounge Brigade and Gringo Floyd. Of course it's not...

3.0 out of 5 stars Waiting room at the Dentist
If your a big sublime punk rock fan, this might not be the album for you. This album is nice and laid back. It's got the feeling of sitting in the waiting room at the dentist. If that's a good analogy. I've enjoyed it for it's jazzy style. Burritos was slowed way down, and I've enjoyed it more than the original.

To people who wasn't expecting a jazz cd--LOOK AT WHAT YOU'RE BUYING! I mean it says the Lounge Brigade and Gringo Floyd. Of course it's not punk bands. Listen to the mp3. I, myself, like jazz. And to hear a jazz version of sublime is sublime itself. The Lounge Brigade is ok, but Gringo Floyd is great. Yes that keyboarder is in the zone.

My favorites:
What I got
40 oz of Freedom
Santeria

What's with under my voodoo? This version doesn't really sound like it. Also I would've rather had another song like chica me tipos.

1.0 out of 5 stars They tried, but didn't quite make it, July 29, 2004
This review is from: Lbc Lounge: Tribute to Sublime (Audio CD)
The people behind this lounge tribute cd had very good intentions. Its just that the quality and resemblence to sublime is very low. I have been a sublime freak, and probably have heard close to every recording make from these guys- including the 50+ live shows. Sublime is not this music- and never was either. Some tracks actually some similar to some songs, which is why I gave it the one star. I would not recommend buying this album if you like sublime- buy it if you enjoy low quailty jazz music. To quote another reviewer- Bradley Nowell would roll over in his grave if he heard this cd.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sublime Muzak, January 6, 2005
This review is from: Lbc Lounge: Tribute to Sublime (Audio CD)
I am a huge Sublime fan, so I was intrigued by this album. But after listening to the tracks online, I felt like I was in a supermarket, 10 years from now, picking out some juicy, ripe tomatoes, and suddenly thinking to myself, "Is that 'Date Rape' on the muzak speakers?" - then getting depressed that I was so old that the ingenious punk/ska of my day was being turned into elevator music.

Bad concept, bad execution.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what you expect, October 27, 2002

If you are a diehard Sublime fan then this album is a joke, it night be ok if say you were waiting to get your teeth pulled. I couldn't even listen to one whole song before I got frustrated. I think that this album is not worth your money. It's a joke, some people trying to make a buck off of the awsome band we all know and love, I think that Bradley Nowell would turn in his grave.

This review is from: Lbc Lounge: Tribute to Sublime (Audio CD)
Hello, first off, i don't want to sound like im an a hole or anything, i just think this cd is no good. It doesn't in any way portay sublime how it should. This is jazz songs with horrible singers for it. On the What i got track i didn't even recognize it was supposed to be it. I rate this the lowest it will let me.

I get very frustrated when people buy things and shun them because they are not what they expected. This is a good album. No, it is not raggae. It is covers of Sublime done in a lounge style. It is very relaxing stuff. If you like mellow music, this is an album for you.

I bought this CD at fye because it was under the label with the rest of the sublime CD's. THis sucks so much I can't even describe how much they killed sublime. Chances are if you liked sublime back in the day, you'll have to move on --There is no replacing the best of the best.
