What a delightful album!,

This review is from: Et Pourquoi Les Crayons? (Audio CD)
She a bit of a nutter is our Amélie-les-Crayons, but she can sing very well and does so on this fascinating album. Amélie's band features an accordian, a grand piano, a tuba and a double bass viol. She sings with a light voice, a soprano, I imagine. She does a lot with her voice (yes, she does animal noises in one song) and she is very capable of expressing herself and the sentiments of her songs.I hope that this and other Amélie-Les-Crayons discs and DVDs are made more widely available outside of France. I was lucky to find this disc in Australia. In a couple of words: highly recommended by me.

Definitely guaranteed to make you smile!,

I can only echo previous reviewer Steve Guy's 5 stars. This little EP is filled with wonderfully askew cheer; and the only thing wrong with it is that it isn't longer. But it's a perfect introduction to Amelie, who may well put you in mind of that other, cinematic Amelie, gleefully smiling at the absurdities & cockeyed surprises that life constantly provides for those with eyes to see them. This CD never fails to put me in a better mood -- sample & see for yourself -- highly recommended!
